New boy. First post. Found Cheltenham and Aintree forums really helpful and interesting. Coming off a painful 2nd on Sunnyhillboy I too have worked thru this field and placed a bet on Quentin Collonges and Aurora's Encore.

I Like walkon and took the 25-1 today. However I expected to see always right. He was running well in the grand national a close 4th until the chair. He was going so well he could have won. He was my big bet. Anyone know why he's not running in this as he would be my tip! Or anyone know when his next run is?

re: always right, my thoughts same as yours, thought it was layed out for GN, and was was max ew bet for it, going really well before falling/unseating rider........ground might not be in his favour?????..for scot national, i know ran well on soft/heavy ground, but for me always wanted good/soft ground, which why i thought everything fell right for GN. Perhaps connections waiting for right conditions/prize money?

Really fancy Merigo Each Way for this, he has an outstanding record at Ayr and bounced back to form last time out. Merigo’s form figures at Ayr are 3112121 and that includes a narrow second in this race last year when 8lbs higher and a wide margined win in the race in 2010. Only way I can see him unplaced is being brought down and since he races prominently that seems very unlikely.

He won off 127, 7lbs lower than tomorrow and isn't getting any younger, good luck anyway, bounced back to form well last time out

But he was 3/4l second from 8lbs higher (142) last year although 15/2 is not that much of an Each Way price
