From Wiki:
The Eurovision Song Contest 2022 is the upcoming 66th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. It is set to take place in Turin, Italy, following the country's victory at the 2021 contest with the song "Zitti e buoni" by Måneskin. Organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and host broadcaster Radiotelevisione italiana (RAI), the contest will be held at the PalaOlimpico, and will consist of two semi-finals on 10 and 12 May, and the final on 14 May 2022.[1]

Re: Eurovision Song Contest 2022
Update;
Oddschecker.com top 10 or so with William Hill prices as off 09/02/2022.
Italy 10/3 - looks good. Can they do the double (a low price for this early stage)?
Poland 8/1
Sweden 10/1
Australia 9/1
Greece 11/1
Russia 16/1 (will have many anti votes as well as a few supporters this year whatever the song)
France 20/1
Germany 25/1
Ukraine 25/1 (might get a good sympathy vote if they have a good song)
San Marino 33/1
Switzerland 28/1
Norway 22/1
Spain 33/1
Armenia 20/1
UK 40/1 (don't bother)
Finland 33/1
Others 40/1 or more
Here is the song from Italy - it's very good and will appeal to the ESC gay community for sure, but will that be enough? VIEWS?
However, we have found out that it is the rehearsal and the dress rehearsal (jury vote) that matters, and the sound sang live not the one in the studio version. I think it will do very well, top six but too early to say it's a winner with so many others to come. As high as No. 5 on the Spotify Global Viral chart.

And here is Israel's entry: Israel Michael Ben David I.M. Looks like another song to appeal to the ESC gay community. VIEWS?
https://eurovisionworld.com/esc/israel- ... ision-2022
Poland is 2nd in Oddschecker. Their final is on 19th February. This may (or may not) be the Polish entry but fans appear to like it above all others of the Polish entries.
Krystian Ochman’s song “River”. VIEWS

Greece: Amanda Georgiadis Tenfjord's song for Eurovision 2022 will be released in February 2022

Re: Eurovision Song Contest 2022
hi all!
It's that time of the year again!
And I have just happened to stumble upon a jewel, an original from the artist, and the interpretation is also different. Oddschecker have them at 15/2, and it's Sweden. I don't know who they think will win there in the longest process ever
but there is one artist in Semifinal 1 which set the bar quite high.
I was hoping for Norway and one of their entries to pop up, but again, will take a long time to hear from their winners as well.
Scandinavians do take this contest seriously.
I also think Mahmood will also be second best again in Italy or perhaps in the top 5. To me, the chorus in the song alludes to the Dutch winner two years, or is it 3 years now? ago.
There could be other countries emerging with automatic preselections or the big 5 could strike.
On a side note, Sweden has something many past winners (from various countries) also had.. or didn't have while performing on stage. She'll no doubt be favourite of the juries.
Till next time!

This is the Fav to win the Melodifestivalen 2022.
Cornelia Jakobs - "Hold Me Closer"
Turn the sound up and listen.
Top 6 for sure and could be a winner. Which is best Italy or Sweden (if they pick Hold me Closer)? VIEWS

A great bet to win Melodifestivalen 2022 at 3.7 with Bet 365
This ia the 2nd fav to win Melodifestivalen 2022
Liamoo - "Bluffin"

It's a no-contest "Hold Me Closer" by a mile!
Sweden is 19/2 to win ESC 2022 - looks a good early bet to me but we are a long way out yet.

Re: Eurovision Song Contest 2022
Just a reminder of my fun ESC winners system (yes a system!) - and it does work more often than you think (but don't take it too seriously)
Top 5 positions for the last four ESC's
Now, who has been knocking on the door and close or won?
Using this "system" you would have spotted Italy in any system shortlist to win in 2021 (Switzerland who came 3rd would also have been on that list). It is unusual for a winner one year to win the next without an exceptional entry but it is possible with such a song but it does have to be outstanding.
2021
1. Italy
2. France
3. Switzerland
4. Iceland
5. Ukraine
2020 No contest
2019
1. Netherlands
2. Italy
3. Russia
4. Switzerland
5. Sweden
2018
1. Israel
2. Cyprus
3. Austria
4. Germany
5. Italy
2017
1. Portugal
2. Bulgaria
3. Moldova
4. Belgium
5. Sweden
So who might be on any shortlist for 2022?
Western European Countries:
Italy - if they have an outstanding song (and they have - currently Fav as I write).3 entries (in top 5)
Switzerland 2 entries
Sweden 2 entries
Then we have
France 1 entry
Iceland 1 entry
Netherlands 1 entry
Israel 1 entry
Cyprus 1 entry
Austria 1 entry
Germany 1 entry
Portugal 1entry
Belgium 1 entry
Israel 1 entry
East European countries:
Ukraine 1 entry (may get a sympathy vote from some)
Russia 1 entry (and unlikely to have too many friends this year - Ukraine)
Bulgaria 1 entry
Moldova 1 entry
So I make it (look out for any of these entries or any on my longer list in the top six on oddschecker.com after dress rehearsals are over).
Short list for 2022
Italy (they do have a very good song.
Sweden
Switzerland
France
Ukraine (sympathy vote will help a lot)
Russia (always an OK song but will have many who will vote against- will they bother to try to win?)
Belgium
Germany
Cyprus
+ Israel and Austria only if they are in the top six on Oddscheker after rehearsals.

Re: Eurovision Song Contest 2022
This is the entry from Ukraine who will certainly get some sympathy votes (especially if Russia invades). While is OK and will do well I do not see this as this year's winner unless it wins purely on a sympathy vote which I think will not be enough and the song is not strong enough on its own.
Alina Pash should represent Ukraine at Eurovision 2022 with the song "Tini Zabutykh Predkiv".
https://eurovisionworld.com/esc/alina-p ... kh-predkiv
Poland song- Ochman - River (Official Music Video) - if selected as their choice. very good top 5 I think with some sympathy votes as well. I still have Sweden and possibly Italy as better (it would not be impossible for Poland to come 2nd with this).
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WA5dQL7 ... OchmanVEVO
Top two to win in Norway:
Subwoolfer - "Give That Wolf a Banana". This will do well under the "fun" category but not strong enough to win ESC 2022 I think.
https://eurovisionworld.com/national/no ... -a-banana
Elsie Bay - "Death of Us". Not a winner at all for me, "Give That Wolf a Banana" is much better.
https://eurovisionworld.com/national/no ... eath-of-us
So team, who is best so far - your views, please (see all links on this and post higher on this page).
I make it - if the songs I have posted get selected that is.
1. Sweden - love the song better each time I hear it (Hold Me Closer - Cornelia Jakobs, if selected that is - will win the Melodifestivalen for sure). Some time since Sweden won and they can only win with an exceptional song - and they have one!!
99,103 views on Youtube so far - but remember the Swedish contest is still at an early stage and this song has not been official released yet.
1. Poland (if River selected that is) - very good, pure quality, will get some sympathy votes over Ukraine. Top 6 for sure.
1,129,820 views on Youtube from 3/02/22 to 13.02.22
3. Italy - big gay vote for sure but it may not be enough. Some time since a double win and only a top song could do it and this comes close for sure.
339,239 views on Youtube so far.
I don't rate Norway but their fun song should make the final.
VIEWS?
Note we still have many others to come yet.

Re: Eurovision Song Contest 2022
Estonia (always one to keep an eye on with a good song).
Stefan will represent Estonia at Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Turin with the song "Hope".
I like it but am I the only one who thinks this is a rip-off from a Western Film like "the good, the bad and the ugly" or was it some other western - is this even allowed??. Ennio Morricone should sue!!
https://eurovisionworld.com/esc/estonia ... -with-hope
It will have its fans but it's just too like those western movies to be seen as original!

Re: Eurovision Song Contest 2022
There is also one more song to look out for, at least from my perspective, I think it's in the 4th show of Norway Preselections.
Sofie Fjellvang is my favourite, another powerful songstress and the song is "Made of Glass".
As far as Estonia's song, initially I thought Stefan's voice leaves me motionless, as in not much there to be excited about, sorry Stefan fans. The song itself, right from the very first strings on the guitar, thought it reminded me of "Vecchio Frack" made famous by Modugno half a century or more ago. As song goes on, indeed we can hear Indian inspired traits, and Morricone inspired trills and thrills. Just that, inspiration not copy, but open to interpretation, but also a song would have befitted Waylon's style to sing it (remember him with Ilse de Lang, that duo behind the Phoenix back then).
More to come!

Re: Eurovision Song Contest 2022
You were spot on with Ukraine Systemsman, some have them at odds of just 6/1, I think I just listened to their entry (Shadows Of Forgotten Ancestors), a traditional song with some rap, not my cup of tea but I was wide of the mark with last years winner.
Most countries have not yet chosen.

Re: Eurovision Song Contest 2022
Norway! I don't know what to make of their entry, though their gimmick and infos are pretty funny. Comedy and costumes have had mixed results in Eurovision, I remember the turkey from Ireland and Verka from Ukraine. This one does have a rhythm though and will be iconic no doubt, but not the overall winner.
My Sofie Sjellvang apparently missed out but she has a powerhouse of a voice.
Speaking of iconic... what else does Linda Bengtzing have to do to go through to the Eurovision! Her song in Swedish night of Melodifestivalen was energetic, and she came out there with her dancers to have fun, running through the crowd and high 5'ving all around... even lyrics contained "I don't give a sh#$#"
Sweden still came through with another 2 acts for the final.
