Day 2 underway and the bookies are running for cover!

Ballymore Novices Hurdle Result:

1st - SAMCRO 8/11f (SP)
2nd - Black Op 8/1
3rd - Next Destination 4/1

60 of the 226 tip comments on the Ballymore were on many punters festival banker Samcro, Black Op once again confirmed his high level of form this season and remains very much one to follow whilst Next Destination wants five miles the way it stayed on after being tapped for toe coming down the hill!

OLBG Tipster "Luke90" off to a winning start and also advised the nice forecast for readers -

"Not the best renewal but that's purely through most trainers dodging the beast that is Samcro along with a few horses losing their place to injury. The selections unbeaten thus far and has won all three of his hurdles races by a combined total of 32 and a half lengths and they've all been by over 5 lengths. He's not been off the bridle yet and to be honest I don't think anything in here will get him off the bridle either. These are the conditions he excels in, ground like this is what he's been thriving in and he'll take some stopping. Black Op looks the most likely danger."

RSA Chase up next, good luck.

RSA Chase Result:

1st - PRESENTING PERCY 5/2f (SP)
2nd - Monalee 10/3
3rd - Elegant Escape 9/1

Second impressive winning favourite of the day with 57 of the 245 tip comments for Presenting Percy (81 on Bryony and Black Corton!), Ruby took a crunching fall on Al Boum Photo.

Weyayeman made a compelling case -

"For me, it has to be a choice between the two at the head of the market and I will opt for Presenting Percy, he won the Pertemps Final here last year and has ran to form, if not better, since then over fences, taking 2 wins from 4 runs with his latest run producing a close up second to gold Cup hopeful, Our Duke. Back over 3m today he looks a banker to be involved at the finished and it is well worth taking the available 5/2."

Coral Cup Result:

1st - BLEU BERRY 20/1 (SP)
2nd - Topofthegame 9/1
3rd - Barra 16/1
4th - William Henry 8/1 jf

4 of the 248 tip comments were on the Willie Mullins winner Bleu Berry who chinned the 24 on 'Topfthegame' up the run in.

buchanski was on the nose! -

"Acts in these conditions and looked badly in need of the run last time out. Can be a dark horse in this race for a trainer in cracking form could be worth a shout that this is the Horse he has set up this season for Paul Townend to go close. His last win on heavy conditions has seen multiple winners come out of that race and stayed on strongly that day so the step up in trip can suit."

The jockey change due to Ruby's fall in the RSA Chase.

QM Champion Chase, up next and should be a cracker if the principals are 100% fighting fit, good luck.

QM Champion Chase Result:

1st - ALTIOR evens f (SP)
2nd - Min 5/2
3rd - God's Own 40/1

3rd winning favourite of the day, never really travelling until turning for home showing class, determination and will to win and doing it in nicely in the end.

84 of the 191 tip comments stayed loyal to Nicky Henderson's champion despite the last minute foot problem earlier in the week.

owl100 being one -

"Despite recent fitness worries I have to side with Altior in this field. He remains unbeaten over obstacles having returned from an absence with a comfortable defeat of Politologue in the Game Spirit. He put Min in his place in last year's Supreme and that rival's recent form with Simply Ned doesn't look good enough. Douvan would obviously be a serious contender on past form but was injured in this race last year and hasn't been since so is clearly also a risky betting proposition. Even if back at his best he would struggle to beat Altior. He didn't face a rival of his class during his winning run, with the exception of Sizing John who was running at a trip which proved significantly short of his best."

Cross Country Chase up next, good luck.

Cross Country Chase Result:

1st - TIGER ROLL 7/1 (SP)
2nd - Urgent de Gregaine 12/1
3rd - The Last Samuri 11/4f

Gordon Elliott enjoying a better day today after Samcro obliging in the first, 17 of the 190 tip comments were in support of Tiger Roll.

tward07 was on the winner -

"Amazingly, Tiger Roll comes into this race with a very similar profile to last years winner Cause of Causes. Both are trained by Gordon Elliot and before winning this Cause of Causes had won at the festival twice before. Tiger Roll won the Triumph and followed that up a few years later with the 4 miler last year. He has followed a similar trend in having 1 run over the Cross Country fences and having a schooling session before the festival. On that debut run he took the banks extremely well, which is 1 of the hardest parts to master in this race. He stayed on nicely and with that experience behind him you would imagine the jockey Keith Donoghue will ride him more aggresively."

Fred Winter currently running, good luck.

Fred Winter Juvenile Handicap Hurdle Result:

1st - VENEER OF CHARM 33/1 (SP)
2nd - Style de Garde 12/1
3rd - Nube Negra 15/2f
4th - Padleyourowncanoe 33/1

Another for Gordon Elliott, 3rd winner of the day and a nice price to boot for 2 members (both Each Way) from the 227 tip comments added.

mrd105 -

"This is a big field and a bit of a lottery.Traditionally big price horse have won this race with 5 of the last 6 being 25/! or over, so with that in mind I am looking for a decent trainer and jockey combo and Veneer of Charm at 33/1 has Gordon Elliott as its trainer and Jack Kennedy in the saddle. Over the jumps the horse has a decent record of 3 runs a win and a 2nd place to show for them. Ran poorly last time out but if you can overlook that the price look generous."

Bumper off and running now, good luck.

Champion Bumper Result:

1st - RELEGATE 25/1 (SP)
2nd - Carefully Selected 6/1
3rd - Tornado Flyer 14/1

Second winner of the day for Willie Mullins and a stable 1-2-3 for good measure.

193 tip comments and 7 members were not put off by the odds with Katie Walsh in the saddle.

Baz2014 was spot on as she came from last to first to outstay everything -

"Kept her unbeaten run intact when winning at Leopardstown on soft ground lto, she easily beat stablemate Colreevy in a Grade Two and can do so again on similar ground, out of Flemensfirth her stamina should see her go well again and also receives a mares allowance for this race."

A couple of big odds winners to finish off day 2 will have certainly given the table standings a shake up and the revised table should show all today's settled results after 7.15pm -

Best of luck tomorrow.

Another great day of tipping yesterday, some excellent stuff and as evidenced with the 20/1, 33/1 and 25/1 winners everything can change pretty quickly so definitely all to play for as we are only halfway and still 14 races to be run.

Willie Mullins' Relegate winning the Bumper at a cracking 25/1 brought day two to a close and a shake up at the top of the competition standings with the top 5 now looking like this -

1. Baz2014 - 33.1
2. Micko70 - 32.2
3. Peterb4 - 30.7
4. petethebet - 22.6
5. mrd105 - 19.8

The detailed standings can be viewed here - https://www.olbg.com/tables/events.php?id=6

Just a reminder again to be sure to add at least 20 tips in total over the 4 days as to not miss out on a potential prize.

Good luck today again and get those tips on early, your followers are waiting for those winners!

We're underway on day 3 with the JLT Result:

1st - SHATTERED LOVE 4/1 (SP)
2nd - Terrefort 3/1f
3rd - Benatar 10/1

218 tip comments on the JLT to kick off day three with 49 members siding with the very well punted Shattered Love and another winner for Gordon Elliott.

Ramsfan101 one of many shrewd judges on the winner -

"Results this week have backed her form up immensely and although she has a lot to find strictly on ratings that form is hard to ignore especially given her mares allowance and fact she has form in conditions. She looks a strong stayer having won over further than this but she’s also won over 2 Miles only 2 runs ago. The form I speak of includes a 2nd behind Jury Duty when beaten just under a length but she had 12 lengths over the RSA winner Presenting Percy who was back in third. That was in November and since then she has won a race in which Rathvinden who won here Tuesday was brought down and Monalee ( 2nd ) to Presenting Percy fell. Must hold strong claims."

Pertemps Final Result:

1st - DELTA WORK - 6/1 (SP)
2nd - Glenloe 9/2f
3rd - Connetable 33/1
4th - Taj Badalandabad 40/1

The tightest of finishes between two well backed Gordon Elliott horses, 27 of the 219 tip comments were on the winner.

reeder10 -

"I wouldn't be surprised to see the Gordon Elliott trained DELTA WORK win the Pertemps following a good 3rd in the Pertemps Network Group Handicap hurdle qualifier at Punchestown 22 days ago where without the slight blunder at the last would've seen the 5-y-o finish a lot closer. With the experienced Davy Russell atop, and conditions in his favour, my money's on the Elliott charge."

Ryanair Chase Result:

1st - BALKO DES FLOS 8/1 (SP)
2nd - Un De Sceaux 8/11f
3rd - Cloudy Dream 10/1

A changing of the 'old guard' perhaps and 18 of the 178 tip comments were correctly on the potential upset.

No apologies for displaying Ramsfan101's second nice priced winner of the day after Shattered Love in the first -

"Interesting that connections choose to take this race in instead of the Gold Cup after a very strong 2nd last time out behind The massive improver Road to Respect in the Christmas chase. Handles conditions well and stays further than this well so the drop back shouldn’t be a problem and if he can back up that career best last time out here then he will be a tough nut to crack. Needs to put his fall in the JLT last year behind him but he has looked a much sounder jumper this term and was going well enough at that time to suggest a year later that he can pick up a festival win."

Stayers Hurdle up next, good luck.

Stayers Hurdle Result:

1st - PENHILL 12/1 (SP)
2nd - Supasundae 6/1
3rd - Wholestone 14/1

Previous festival form again highlighted with last year's Coral Cup winner pipped by the Albert Bartlett winner (and first one to win the Stayers) Penhill, 13 of the 222 tip comments were on this brilliant training performance by Willie Mullins.

Take three, no apologies again and take a bow Ramsfan101 -

"Course and distance winner after comfortably winning the Albert Bartlett here last year beating Monalee and the reposing Wholestone. Has only run once since when beaten at the Punchestown festival by Champagne Classic but is from the master Willie Mullins stable and he has a strong record when sending horses here after a long break with Quevega a particular success. Has form in all sorts of conditions but is 2/3 in this sort of ground and I can see him being a major factor here coming from the back in a race likely to be run at a decent clip."

Very competitive looking Handicap Chase up next, good luck.
