Thoughts on Gilgamboa? Never lived up to early novice expectations but still a touch of quality and can’t see it not being favourite on the day I

Long way to go here.....he looked ok, but seems a horse built on reputation not substance for me.

5th in the Irish gold cup 5th in the Ryanair and 4th in the National suggests it has the class to win. However it's only ever won on soft or heavy... Will the ground at Cheltenham suit?

He will be ok for 2019...providing he remains in the Hunter/Pointing arena!

This is off the Wikipedia page for the race but pretty certain this is correct:

"Qualification for entry in the Foxhunter Chase is based on a horse's previous performances in certain types of race within a specific period. To be eligible a horse must have finished first or second twice in hunter chases, or have won two open point-to-point races, or have won one open point-to-point race and finished first or second in a hunter chase."

So he’s won twice now but does that it mean he’s not eligible because of his runner up to arctic skipper in a grade 2 in November 2016?

I was reading an article yesterday about some new rules for the Hunter chasers...and then the top 6 or 7 Hunter chasers.... Gilgamboa was one of them but it was stated there that it does not qualify for this year's event and it will be going to the National

Apparently all about the ground with this fella.

Has knee problems, loves it Soft and Heavy, any good in the Ground is a concern for connections!
