Nothing to suggest he will stay the gold cup trip however. Will be interesting to see how he does in the Lexus

Personally, i would expect Yorkhill to run in the Ryanair rather than the Gold Cup.

Even if he was to run in the Gold Cup, i certainly couldn't back him at his current price of 8/1 considering he has yet to run over further than 2m 5f

What has Mullins got to win it then because Djakadam isn’t going to progress to taking the victory.

I think he’ll try Yorkhill but will come up short on the day and Might Bite will stretch away having jumped the last.

I have been saying this for 2 years, Willie should send Vroum Vroum Mag to the Gold Cup, she is unbeaten in 6 chases, easily stayed 3 miles, albeit over hurdles and at Leopardstown, but she will get a decent mares allowance and jumps fences for fun.

50/1 at present, if they came out and said they would run her, i will be all over her like a rash, love the mare

VVM looks like been retired on the back of the comments by Ricci on the ATR chat with Chapman.

She took a knock at the end of the season and she's really taking her time on getting ready for a comeback.....i think he implied the Breeding Shed was more vital than the racecourse.

Since the turn of the century Apart from best mate and kauto star every other winner of the gold cup was running in it for the 1st time so statisticly ( not spelt right i know ) we want a 2nd season chaser ie mite bite yorkhill our duke ( if he recovers)

I'd still love to see Blacklion have a crack at this. I know he's probably going to go for the National with a run at Haydock inbetween like last year and going for both the GC annd the GN is an incredibly tough ask which probably sees you lose both rather than win either but I just think he'd be really competitive in it. He travels so well, jumps great and seems to build momentum through his races and then take control 2 or 3 out. He's a former festival winner and he's a much better horse now than that RSA win 2 seasons back. I backed him at 50's NRNB and obviously he never ran and I got my dosh back but I may well have a little tipple once the NRNB markets come as if he were to run I think he'd go off far shorter.

Nigel Twiston-Davies has Bristol De Mai so I can appreciate he feels he has the bases covered but again, I'd just love to see him go for it.

I appreciate the stat for what fits a 2nd season chaser so Disko could be worth watching. If the JP McManus horse, Ballyoisin runs well at Cork tomorrow against Un De Seaux that would boost the form but it's still hard to say whether he's going to be a Ryanair or Gold Cup type.

Going against that stat, I still think Djakadam is the value in the antepost market. Regardless of the result at Punchestown tomorrow you know he can run well in the race, he's still only 8yo (will be 9 at the time of the race) and 16's generally looks a good bet in my eyes but again, I won't ve getting involved until I can get NRNB.

If the gold cup was run over 3 miles djakadam would have probably 2 under his belt always seems to get outstayed after the last dont know why they dont run it in king goerge think it would love it
