The Harry Fry trained American is supplemented at the cost of £27,500 by connections. Noel Fehily, having been bumped off Our Duke once Sizing John was confirmed out, gets the ride as you would expect.

Now look like Cue Card not running..
Going for Road To Respect...

Won here last year in 2m 4f, on good going, but feel better
in the cut going to.
He running well this term, and is a course winner here,
handles ok sizes fields.
Plus nice seven year old, think is right age for GC!!
Plus will get the trip, as like the testing going.
So he one of my bankers this week, and will go close
in the GC...

Gigginstown themselves aren't keen on Road To Respect on heavy ground. Was scratched from the Irish Gold Cup for better ground, and personally they way they've been talking, if it's still soft/heavy come Friday, they may wait for Aintree.

I generally make my pick when knowing what kind of going we will have & usually the weekend before but after looking at various weather forecasts without torrential downpours it looks like bits of rain/showers from Saturday onwards leaving what will probably be Soft ground so one who will appreciate this & won't want for stamina is

NATIVE RIVER.
Can't believe the weather forecast ( even this weekends cold snap ) from 10 days ago spot on.

I watched the Owners interviewed on ATR couple of weeks ago saying this is the culmination of 2 year plan another thing that swayed me.

Hope he doesn't encounter the CURSE of the last 4/5 Gold Cup Winners, problems & retirement !

NR strikes me as a generally sound horse so there's a good chance he'll be back next year.on better ground MB would have taken it I reckon but NR is 1 game horse
