Had a decent bet on Willoughby Court this afternoon, he didnt disappoint in the jumping department, spot on over those fences.

Yanworth, for me, he's another Finians Oscar, his jumping gets him into problems, and his pure class allowed him to get within 4 or 5 lengths.

When the pace was on today, he couldn’t go with it and jumping let him down. He needs further for me

He was out of his comfort zone against Footpad, but most horses would have been, he looks like a superstar over 2 miles.

If Death Duty comes over, which for me is still 50/50, it means the JLT is still the race imo.

I must confess, I was slightly surprised they opted to take on Footpad over the 2 miles.

Better judges than me have said he had the pace to go 2 miles, but i was slightly concerned over the jumping and the fact that Footpad was the opposition.

Anyway, he was injured in the race, maybe before the fall!

Finnan's Oscar will go for this, confirmed by Colin Tizzard. A major disappointment this season and I still think 3m might be more his game but at least they haven't gone back to 2m and I also think they may feel this is a more winnable target. 14's the best price around now which has shortened on the confirmation of target but I'd suspect even with his mess of a season, he'll be single figures on the day based in part that some above in the betting won't be in this and if any of the Potts/Tizzard/Power horses run well in the opening two days. Not for me though.

"JLT Novices' Chase favourite Willoughby Court has poison in a foot, reports trainer Ben Pauling, and cannot be regarded as a certain runner at the Cheltenham Festival."

Some interesting news about Pauling's runner today.
