Fred Winter Hurdle - Wednesday 14th March 2018 (Day 2)
Re: Fred Winter Hurdle - Wednesday 14th March 2018 (Day 2)
my thoughts on the Fred Winter are it's a nightmare puzzle to try & solve, will only look at it closer to the day and probably have a few small e/w punts based on the stats work I've done in my blog
The Fred Winter is one of the races that features in my latest blog that looks at the Starting Price of Winners of a range of Cheltenham Festival races including the Champion Bumper, stats & thoughts to consider :-

hope that helps in some way, good luck

Act of Valour 14/1
Paul Nicholls has an excellent record in this with a 1st and 2nd in 2016 and 2015, 2nd and 4th in 2014, 2nd and 3rd in 2013 and a win in 2011. That's pretty impressive and shows he clearly targets the race. He currently has four entries but this horse looks the best of them judged on his 4l 2nd last time out to one of the Triumph Hurdle principals We Have A Dream. This is the only entry for the horse at the festival.

City Dreamer 33/1
City Dreamer won a class 2 hurdle by 9 lengths back in September then in it's next run out it finished 2nd 4 lengths behind Malaya but it was carrying 4 lbs more then it in a class 1.It's last time out over hurdles was in December when it finished a long way ahead of Act Of Valour and placed 2nd 10 lengths behind We Have A Dream in a class 1 but it carried 2 lbs more then it and it carried the same weight as Act Of Valour.Has had just one run out this year but that was in a class 5 flat race and this is also this horses only booked race for this meeting and i also think the going would need to be good/good to soft or good for it to have a chance in this.

Could be a good spot there Titans, Alan King 2nd, 3rd and 5th in 2012, not a top 5 since then though which would be my only concern. This is his only Cheltenham entry so it looks a good spot and well worth a punt.

I've had a look at the trends and found the following:

Re: Fred Winter Hurdle - Wednesday 14th March 2018 (Day 2)
Weights set to rise by at least 10lbs as Redicean (heading to the Triumph) is out, Doctor Bartolo also taken out.

Mitchouka from Elliot was a horse I noted for the Irish scene but not for Cheltenham itself.
My notes: A type that shoul be versatile 2m-2m4f Softish and consistent. Should posses a bit of stamina aswell.
Given the soft Going and 16f stamina scenario now, i would suggest a bet.
13/1 available imo
