Nice to see Sutton Place make his debut over fences over the new year. He’s a horse I’ve been keen to see chasing since hearing Jamie Codd earlier in the season say how well he’d been schooling at home and could be a gold cup horse next year. I thought his jumping improved as the race went on and looked better the future they went. I think he could be a big player come March as I think he’ll improve again when stepping up in trip.

The main issue with Sutton Place is the ground. A non runner on Good to Yielding ground, Pulled Up on similar ground. Four wins with Heavy in the description.

I think Monalee is overrated and the race is wide open.

I think Sutton Place is a lovely horse, but he's had his issues. Not sure they'd risk him on Spring ground if Soft wasn't in the title, lets hope he stays fit.

I like Monalee, he cost me a bomb with that fall, he had jumped really well up until that, but who knows. It's not a race that's giving us any real strong vibes, Death Duty, if he comes, will be JLT, Presenting Percy, is he good enough for this, to me he should be in the 4 miler.

Presenting Percy might run at the festival but I think his main target is the Irish National.

Terrefort from the Nicky Henderson yard could well be a big price at 20/1. Henderson has a good record in this (1,2,5 last year), 5th in 2016, 3rd in 2013, 1st in 2012, and 2,3,5 in 2011 but at present, this appears to be his only runner. The horse runs this Saturday at Wetherby in the Towton Novices

I’ve looked at Terrefort when considering Cheltenham and I think it will come too early in his development; to be honest, i’d be surprised If he ran. He’s not actually 5 until after the festival and the weight for age allowance isn’t anywhere near as attractive as when Star De Mohaison won at the same age. Aintree might be the wiser option.
If it is Cheltenham then the JLT.

Terrefort stepped up in class today and won his race. Henderson hinted afterwards that stamina was his forte and given the Mullins dominance in the JLT I'm still leaning towards this horse being aimed at the 3m RSA rather than 2m4f JLT.

I saw that but then Munir tweeted that the horse was still a baby.

Was very impressed yesterday. Noel really is brilliant too. Surely they won’t go JLT?!

One of the races of the festival. I do hope Monalee goes to the JLT. The way he finished last years race suggests to me, he would be better over slightly shorter and racing prominently.

Al Boum Photo would be my current pick....but i don't really bet antepost.
