Faugheen into 13/8 and Beveur d’air 7/2 - is Faugheen too fragile to get him through to the Festival? BD was a solid if not spectacular winner last year - looks a good e/w shot to nothing at the price

I thought Faugheen put up an excellent return, but like you say, 13/8, with the injury record, it's not for me.

I’d take Beveur D’Air if forced to bet now but if Faugheen lines up on the day with no set backs I think he’ll go off near even money.

If another fragile but talented horse of Willie Mullins makes it there...Arctic Fire, I’d love to be on him e/w and unless there is news of an issue or something goes wrong I’ll be playing him e/w once we get done NRNB coming through in the new year.

Beveur d'air is probably still improving will be only 7 come march faugheen will be 10 a long time since a 10 year old won the champion think 7/2 on beveur d'iar is massive even if faugheen turns up and he if he doesnt beveur d'air will be odds on

BVD at 5's E/W is my bet.

Faugheen is all class, but far too fragile and 10 year olds don't have the best record.

I'm going to make a bold prediction that "The Machine" is not 100% at this point in time, drifting for everything, BVD hammered in the Champion betting.

Another setback for the Ricci/Mullins???

There were rumours Sunday night floating around Twitter that Faugheen was going to miss the season but I suspect it's just Chinese Whispers. One of the worst things about social media unfortunately. I suspect people were just reacting (incorrectly) to the market move for Buvear D'Air who is now favourite.

If Faugheen goes to the festival I just can't avoid backing it to be honest. The trends and stats will probably say that it's too old, too fragile, but a fit and 100% Faugheen will beat anything IMO.

BD solid today and his acceleration away from TNO approaching the final couple was great to see. Deeerved favourite for me.

I just hope the market leaders make it there fine and give us a real treat. It's going to be fascinating as they go over two out quickening up heaidng to the last to see who is off the birdle first and who is travelling best. I'll stick to my hope I can get a big price on Arctic Fire e/w NRNB and it runs in this but otherwise I think this has the potential to be a dual for the ages. It's hard not to be impressed by Buveur D'Air and I can understand the concerns about Faugheen (age, fragility) but with neither having faced each other we have two of the biggest NH trainers around, two of the biggest owners going for one of the biggest races with two of the best hurdlers of recent times.

Let's just hope this happens!
