RACE 2 RESULT -

1st - ALTIOR
2nd - Cloudy Dream
3rd - Ordinary World

Some good Each Way advice added by OLBG tipsters here on Cloudy Dream and Ordinary World -

JONDAVIES26 - CLOUDY DREAM (ew)

"I've been a fan of this horse since he finished a very eye catching second in the Scottish champion hurdle. Since then he has gone on to enjoy a fruitful campaign over fences where the ground has been softer than ideal. Ran a good race to finish 2nd to Buveur D'air when trying to give away 8lbs and the race last time turned tactical which wouldn't have suited his run style as he lacks a bit of speed. The strong pace here should see him staying on up the hill and with the better ground to suit here could well hit the frame."

Also some really good (ew) content added for Cloudy Dream by 2015 competition winner Zipster, bigd11108 and Fryboy.

garethp1981 - ORDINARY WORLD (ew)

"The best represented sire in this race is Kings Theatre but there are limited runners for him. His half-brother Milan also produces some very good horses and although they are often better at staying trips. Ordinary World is by Milan out of a mare by Presenting, another very high class sire who may have injected the necessary speed to compete here. If this is run quickly at the start it is possible that Ordinary World could be perfect for the race and at the prices he is easy to back Each Way. Altior has to be considered a likely winner but even if running into a place, Ordinary World would be the more profitable bet."

marksutherland has had a great start to the competition, tipping LABAIK (advised @ 50's) in the first and Ordinary World Each Way in the Arkle.

Good luck in Race 3, one for the handicap experts. Will it be one of the last three winners of this race ? .. Holywell, The Druid's Nephew or Un Temps pour Tout ?

RACE 3 RESULT -

1st - UN TEMPS POUR TOUT - 9/1 (SP)
2nd - Singlefarmpayment
3rd - Noble Endeavour
4th - Buywise

Eighteen OLBG tipsters including simoncoolhand below advised last year's winner for a repeat -

"I really fancy Holywell to run a massive race today off a mark of 148, the horse at his best beat Don Cossack and Many Clouds in a grade 1 novice and was 4th in the Gold Cup two years ago. Last year, it was only this horse that was too good for Holywell, he beat my NAP by 7 lengths, but the two were 9 lengths clear of the third. He's 7 lbs higher today than he was that day, but his two runs over fences since were in the Mildmay novice at Aintree won by Native River and in the Hennessy, again won by Native River. He has more than a stone to find with Henri Parry Morgan on that Aintree form, but I don't think the latter named's jumping will stand the test at Cheltenham. My Each Way selection could well come back to form at this venue over fences again."

Last year's Cheltenham competition winner Toadfish85 also tipped Un Temps Pour Tout.

The competition table standings will update overnight.

CHAMPION HURDLE RESULT -

1st - BUVEUR D'AIR 5/1 (SP)
2nd - My Tent Or Yours
3rd - Petit Mouchoir

45 OLBG tipsters advised the Champion hurdle winner, including simoncoolhand, Zipster and Fryboy all three already on the board today in earlier races.

pompeybuster12 also tipped up the winner for followers -

"A race that has really opened up largely due to the main principles being ruled out, YANWORTH has had plenty of stick due to messy jumping and a general liking to make things hard , does have plenty of ability however. BUVEUR DAIR looks a very classy performer with a terrific cruising speed , his line at Cheltenham is utterly robust thanks to participation in the Supreme last year which has looked better and better with every passing month, pricewise 11/2 could well look monumental this time tomorrow."

Who's going to win our race the OLBG Mares Hurdle ??

Good luck

OLBG MARES HURDLE RESULT -

1st - APPLE'S JADE 7/2 (SP)
2nd - Vroum Vroum Mag
3rd - Limini

52 OLBG Tipsters went for the ex Willie Mullins trained Apple's Jade to beat her old stablemates VVM and Limini. Some great content put forward again from members including spurs1967, safeseen, apollo14 and Derbz87 (below) -

"Relative to Limini and Vroum Vroum Mag, this is all about the prices. Officially this season she's beaten Vroum Vroum very narrowly and has 2L to find with Limini from last time out. Considering that last season she got better as the season went on, peaking at Aintree and Punchestown, there is reason to argue she's fully entitled to reverse the form with the favourite in very different conditions here - larger field, different pace, different ground. She's not a ground dependant mare because she posted an excellent 2nd behind Ivanovich Gorbatov at Cheltenham on good ground and there were some useful sorts in behind including Footpad and Let's Dance. She looked desperate for the extra couple of furlongs that day and it would be no shock should she win this."

Now for the National Hunt Chase, plenty of stamina required for this four miler.

Good luck

NATIONAL HUNT CHASE RESULT -

1st - TIGER ROLL 16/1 (SP)
2nd - Missed Approach
3rd - Haymount

15 OLBG tipsters found this previous Triumph hurdle winner as mentioned by last year's Cheltenham competition winner Toadfish85 already showing some tipping form in an earlier race today -

"Now this is a long haul. Not many, if any have ran this far before. Tiger Roll has had a long time off(134 days) so should be fresh for today's race. He won the Triumph Hurdle here back in 2014, but has more recently won the Munster National at Limerick back in October last year. He's been put in slightly longer races, than usual, lately so I'm hoping he has the stamina to outrun the field.
Gordon Elliot hasn't been on the greatest form he's ever had, but I feel this could possibly be one of a few winners for him this week.
E/W claims again."

betmanmike was also on the mark with the winner, adding good pointers for OLBG followers.

Good luck in the 'lucky last' or is it the 'getting out stakes' ?

CLOS BROS NOV HCP CHSE RESULT -

1st - TULLY EAST 8/1 (SP)
2nd - Gold Present
3rd - Two Taffs
4th - Powersbomb

33 OLBG tipsters advised the winner in the final race on day 1, including simoncoolhand who completed a good first day, donkosaurus, johnqclark, Midlandslion and JamPizza (below) -

"This horse ran a cracker in the Martin Pipe (hurdles) race last year and this race for novice chasers often favours the classier hurdlers. Tully East is also sired by Shantou whose progeny do well at Cheltenham and the trainers only ever run in this race was placed. He's therefore in all likelihood had this race as the aim this season and will be trained to the minute. It's a really tight handicap but this horse certainly ticks a lot of trends and has exactly the right kind of profile."

Big thank you to all members for some great tipping and informative content for OLBG followers on day 1 of the tipping competition at the festival.

We'll update the competition table standings overnight and tomorrow's a new day for all of us who struggled to finds a winner today.

Good luck to all members tomorrow.

DAY 2 - NEPTUNE RESULT -

1st WILLOUGHBY COURT 14/1 (SP)
2nd Neon Wolf
3rd Messire Des Obeaux

26 OLBG tipsters hit the ground running on day two with WIlloughby Court, Zipster, bigd11108, Alexman, The Shark and Ramsfan101 (below) -

"For me this one is way overpriced especially as he's 1 of only 5 who have won over this trip prior to today and he's done it twice and in today's conditions one of those occasions. Ben Pauling is fast becoming a top trainer and this in many ways is his breakout season so to cap it with a winner here must be the aim. Fifth in a strong bumper behind the likes of Bacardys and Ballyandy but evidence suggests and ratings are proof of this is that he's a better horse than Bacardys now and is only rated a lb lower than Neon Wolf the fav. He's a huge price considering and will go close from a likely front running effort."

RSA CHASE RESULT -

1st - MIGHT BITE 7/2 (SP)
2nd - Whisper
3rd - Bellshill

Phew !! Despite wandering across to the punters in the stands Might Bite got back up for plenty of OLBG tipsters including our leader after day 1 marksutherland -

"I like Might Bite here, this horse has been so impressive all season and looked mightily unlucky on boxing day at Kempton when coming down at the last when Jacob asked him for a big one. Might bite made up for it last time when winning as he liked at 1/7. I expect Henderson to have this one spot on today and I expect another winning favourite in the second race today. Everyone calling this horse a flat truck bully will be eaten there words today."
