Re: The OLBG Cheltenham Preview Night
Ok cheers. Have a good evening!
Re: The OLBG Cheltenham Preview Night
Supreme
Two big plusses for Ballyandy. Tizzard says Pingshou has a bit to find. It all sounds like an audition for Mrs Brown's Boys.
Arkle
Altior obviously, but a tip for the forecast from McCoy 'Flying Angel'. Tom Malone says Charbel to follow him home.
Champion Hurdle
McCoy: TNO and Petit to set pace, would ride Yanworth. MTOY to finish 3rd, but won't win, just started to come to hand over last few weeks.
Joe Tizzard: Would also ride Yanworth. Moon Racer interesting but fragile.
Heskin: Buveur D'Aire
OLBG Mares
Malone: Lifeboat Mona (Nicholls) can be competitive.
McCoy: Limini

Re: The OLBG Cheltenham Preview Night
Wednesday:
Tizzard: Good to soft, dead ground on the Tuesday, should get quicker rest of week.
Neptune:
McCoy: siding with Neon Wolf, e.w chance for Shattered Love
Malone: Bacardys has solid G1 form and will push Neon Wolf
RSA
McCoy: Acapella could be overrated, other jockeys in his last race gave him too much repsect
Malone: Might Bite won't win here, doesn't like a fight, wont like the hill. Flat tracks suit better.
Malone: Alpha Des Obeaux - form behind Thistlecrack who would be 1/2 for this. Whisper not good enough.
Tizzard: Royal Vacation will be staying on, a lively ew, one for the Welsh National
Queen Mother
McCoy: Not considering anything other than Douvan
Heskin: Douvan to win. Not much between Gods Own and Sir Valentino. Gods Own peaking at the right time
Tizzard: Fox Norton should finish 2nd. Sizing Granite hard to train but starting to come good and one for Aintree over 2m 5f
Some talk of Special Tiara placing.

Re: The OLBG Cheltenham Preview Night
Thursday
JLT:
Heskin: Ruby will have his work cut out to get Yorkhill settled. Has a great engine if Ruby can get him to switch off.
Malone: Yorkhill is top class and has the right man on board. If he stands up he wins. Thinks Ruby will keep him at the back NAP of the day
Tizzard: Yorkhill guessy at fences.
McCoy: Politilogue could win but might not stay. Yorkhill faces a stiffer task than the Neptune next year. Disko good chance. Top Notch is solid.
Tizzard: If Top Notch wins, Sizing Coelco could look very good in the handicap
Ryanair
Compere bloke: Trainer wants to run Empire Of Dirt in Gold Cup but connections undecided
McCoy: UDS on softer
Malone: Understands why Empire of Dirt connections want to go for this as good ground could suit and UDS won't like it.
Tizzard: Thinks it's wide open as going won't be soft.
Stayers
McCoy: Unowhatimeanharry, no way to see Cole Harden beating. Jezki to follow him home and class horse in race.
Tizzard: West Approach, thinks he could've won the Albert Bartlett but doubts he'll beat UNWIMH. Owners decision to run him here. e/w chance
Malone: UNWIMH (NAP)

Re: The OLBG Cheltenham Preview Night
Friday
Triumph
McCoy: Landofhopeandglory best on good ground. Difficult to pick holes in Defi Du Sueil, Charli Parkes is still a good horse.
Malone: Doesn't think Charli Parkes is anywhere near Defi Du Sueil and Defi is by far the best in the race.
Tizzard: Wide open race, may be ground dependent and may not like good.
Albert Bartlett
McCoy: This race is a good test of stamina and thinks Death Duty wins and one of the bets of the meeting
Heskin: Death Duty all he does is stay. The Worlds End (his ride) is a good ew chance
Tizzard: Elegant Escape runs but not mature enough for this.
Gold Cup
Tizzard: Cue Card is still the quickest and most enthusiastic on the home gallops.
McCoy: Thinks Cue Card is too old now, doesn't think he'll win. Doesn't really fancy Native River either, might not have the class to win. Djakadam better preparation this year and doesn't think any of these would beat Don Cossack so Djakadam to win and right age.
Tizzard: NR wasn't a GC horse last year but he's done nothing but improve since. Needs to improve again, but is still improving. Good to soft not a problem for CC or NR (compere should've asked 'what about on good' IMO). Implicitly it appeared NR might not like good.
Malone: Times show NR improving and CC going the other way.
McCoy: First time since beating Annie Power that he's seen More Of That back to his old self. Wouldn't be surprised at all if he won. Also Empire Of Dirt is improving and will enjoy the test of stamina more than Outlander.

Re: The OLBG Cheltenham Preview Night
Handicaps and other things
Tizzard:
Sizing Codelco (Burns Group Handicap)
Viconte De Noyer - ew for Ultima
Sizing Platinum in Grand Annual, wants good ground, been saved for this
Malone
Supreme - Dan Skeltons 50/1 shot Moyahad
Albert Bartlett - The Worlds End
Plate - Starchitecht (thinks deffo goes for Plate)
Missed Heskins choices
McCoy
Foxhunters - On The Fringe better prep than last year and a good thing.
X-Country - Cause Of Causes, classy but tends to get left behind and race might not be run to suit i.e not at full pelt so won't be running on past beaten horses and this race hard to catch up if getting behind
Rock The World - Grand Annual
Holywell - capable of winning, but not shown much form this year, price too short
Tombstone - hard to see him not winning in Coral or County. Malone confident he will go for Coral
Tips -
McCoy: Death Duty, On The Fringe or Tombstone
Tizzard: Sizing Codelco
Heskin: Neon Wolf
Malone: Unowhatimeanharry
Compere: Winter Escape in the County (McCoy added that he was really sick at Christmas, but is coming right now)

Re: The OLBG Cheltenham Preview Night
Good preview , tbf after watching a few previews you kind of gather the same info
Limini, neon wolf, tombestone wherever runs, uknowhatimeanharry probably the 4 names i heard most this week in the previews ive watched.
I thought Malone was very knowledgeable as you would expect as knows the history of the horses but hewas quite dismissive to mccoy and tizzards thoughts sometimes talking over them and too much ridicule to their thoughts. Good guest knowledge wise just probably let others like mccoy have their say.

If I study and fail so be it
But to not study is like opening your window and throwing your money out hoping the wind brings it back in
