This isn't necessarily useful for the race, as im not sure if he qualifies..and even if he does he might be more suited by the shorted Aintree Hunter but Felix Yonger is off to Colin McBratney...following along the similar lines to Marito last year.

Colin is more P2P trainer and has ties with Kirk.

Think this horse is probs still hard to place as more a 2miler than 2m4/5, but i guess being with Colin, he will be aimed at hunters

Dear oh dear

bet365 are going NRNB for the Foxhunters so I looked up what was on offer.

They are showing 20/1 for Marito.

As far as I know Marito was put down on the gallops last year. I really fancied him for further progress (2nd in 2016 as I recall) and was pretty upset when he died.

Seriously, what is the point in doing that?

How can they? :lose:

You're right about the McBratney route, which was indeed followed by Marito a year ago. However, the Cheltenham race is 3m2 (Gold Cup course) and if as you say Felix Yonger is a 2m/2m5f horse I doubt whether he will be aimed to Cheltenham unless they have a serious opinion that he will actually stay 3m2f. The Aintree race is shorter, and that may indeed be where he goes.

Will do a bit of looky-uppy!

I think Bookmakers make errors, simple as.

I noted Stan James were doing the same last October/November with Muthaza, a Willie Mullins trained Mare who was been quoted for the Mares Novice Race. The horse was killed in a race last August, they quoted her for 4 months after, and even cut her odds at one point, clearly producing a decent gallop in the after life!

They had Asum and Bapaume in the Foxhunters not so long ago lol

Yeah Marito is gone, and the same connections now have Callmebubbles...which has followed the same route from WPM and RR to Colin...

Hes met with a setback and wont be running in foxhunters so save your dough!

Felix Yonger i haven't heard a smiggen about to be honest which isn't a good sign..

I was told ask the weatherman over xmas, and im on at 16s but, On the Fringe will be the one to beat.

Wee prep run at punchestown and then off to the festivals i presume

Ask The Weatherman looked good yesterday, took some 8's last week.

On The Fringe is interesting, his prep run will be bad, was last year.

A year older, no Nina, he wont be 13/8 this year will he!

The issue for me with Ask The Weatherman is that jockey Will Biddick has a surprisingly poor Cheltenham record : 1 win from 29 chase rides in the last five years.
However, the horse has put in some impressive performances at a couple of stiff, undulating PTP courses so Cheltenham should suit.

Is It Came To Pass being aimed at this? He was running a decent enough race when he came down last year, and he was only 6 at the time. Can't see him priced up anywhere for it

He's not eligible because he ran in open company in December I think.

It Came To Pass is still qualified to run in the race although would have no idea if it had a Hunt certificate for this season, given he has run in normal races I would guess not. Wonderful Charm's surprising bid for the race has made things interesting as he looked very good at Musselburgh and you would imagine he would be able to get himself qualified with ease. The only bet I have had so far is Ask The Weatherman before he ran at Wincanton. I was really impressed with his jumping, he stays well, has speed and handles any going. He looks the best horse to have come from British pointing to run in the race for a good few years.

Decent trial by On The Fringe? Drifted in the betting today but no disgrace getting beat off Foxrock.
