Vroum Vroum Mag should go for this - Vautour sadly no longer with us, Douvan in the CC or GC and the yard have several options for the OLBG Mares Hurdle.

Josses hill was very impressive yesterday. Questionable opposition of course as they all seem to be either on the downgrade, or jsut not firing currently.

He looked the part, and this would be his main aim (8th last year). He is better than 8th in my view..but going LH'd doesnt seem to suit him which could be the main issue. There will be horses much closer to March defecting to this race...but for now he's of interest in most middle distance G1 chases for me.

He's jumped like a dog before though hasn't he, Cheltenham would find him out more than any other track.

Riverside Theatre won around Cheltenham and smashed through a few on the way round but the Ryanair looks a hot contest this year and is developing into one of my favourite races of the week.

He does look a much improved horse this season does Josses but in reality he's sprinted clear of Tea For Two and More Of That over 2.5 miles when both of them probably want 3 miles plus in that company. There's also the fact his last three wins as a chaser have been on right handed flat tracks on courses that probably favour a front runner, certainly hard to peg one back at Kempton. With the sad demise of Vautour and the retirement of last years fourth Al Ferof plus De Bromhead surely putting Valseur Lido in the big one this year, it looks an intriguingly open contest. With the likelihood of decent ground I think this might well be Gods Own's best trip and I'd hope to see him here rather than trying to win the Champion Chase which looks a fruitless task if Douvan turns up. He's another who is said to be better going right handed but he's holding his form pretty well this season given that he's been giving away weight in Group 2's and then he was keeping on very well in the Tingle Creek considering he was very outpaced after blundering at the second.

I seen some talk of Ar Mad going for this after his Sandown runnthe other day showed he has a lot to find on the likes of UDS and stablemate SDG but whilst his front running style would make this tactically interesting he strikes me as a horse that his jumping just lacks quite enough for these top class races and maybe he'd have a better chance in something like the Grand Annual?

I'd love to see Vroom Vroom Mag go for this I think she's wasted as a hurdler although I'm sure with Mullins great record in the OLBG Mares Hurdle he'll want a top class representative in that.

Very interesting comment from Bryan Cooper in a recent blog where he said that he felt Valseur Lido didn't stay in the Lexus. On that basis, you'd have to have massive doubts about him turning up for the GC, which makes the 10/1 for this race look very appealing.

Cue Card dropping back into this wouldn't interest me at all and I'd have massive stamina doubts about a horse who can race as freely as UDS lasting out a stiff 2m5f. Can't see Djakadam running in this as he's both Mullins' and Ricci's only viable GC option this year

I'd agree but O'Leary has stated that he believes the horse stays. Most evidence suggests that the Gold Cup trip would be beyond him.

He finished second to the mighty Vautour in last year's Ryanair and a replication of that form this time round should win it...so why not win it ?

Would be a very strange one. Particularly as they spent years disagreeing with Mullins over the horse's best trip, when WM wanted to run him over further!

I looked at the 10's this morning with PP, thought a while.....thoughts I'd sleep on it.

Wise choice!
