Really like long dog and hope he lines up here, the trip should be spot on for him, good value e-w at 14-1 against 3-1 Bellshill
Long dog is a grinder and likes a fight he isn\'t flashily and will be hard to pass up the hill, because he has been on the go since the summer he hasn\'t been taken seriously in the betting.

For a w mullins horse he is a price at 14-1 ew
Not often we can say that! Punish the bookies

Long Dog has been on the go since last summer, I think he's found his level, and I doubt he'll get placed imo.

Having backed Shantou Village for this I'm hoping it's not a bad omen but he's going for the Classic Novices Hurdle over 2m4f on trials day and 3 of the last 9 winners have followed up with victory in the Albert Bartlett

In 2011 Bobs Worth beat Rock On Ruby - future Albert Bartlett champ beat future Neptune second.

In 2013 At Fishers Cross beat The New One - future Albert Bartlett champ beat future Neptune champ

Yanworth backed today, looks like he's taking in the longer race as opposed to the Supreme.

Shantou Village, my tip for the race, runs in the trial at the weekend. That's arguably the most informative race of it's type, with Neptune and Albert Barlett winners filling the places several times in the last decade. ( in 2013, At Fishers Cross beat The New One with Coneygree in third - not bad form !! )

A Festival Trials blog will be uploaded tomorrow.

Shantou Village is tipped up Pricewise, 14's going quick.

Mullins confirms that Bellshill is to aimed here, there were comments re a drop to the Supreme.

He's been reading my blog :P

I know there's a chance Shantou Village could go for the Albert Barlett but i listened to what Mulholland said about not wanting to turn the horse into a plodder, keeping him away from 3 miles, and decided he'd be more likely to run in the Neptune.

Going to be some trial with Barters Hill and Yanworth jocked up for it, although the former has an entry at Donny.

Yanworth takes on Shantou Village at Cheltenham, Barters Hill heads to Donny, I dont think Up For Review will run.

Reputations to be shattered.

It looks a great race the Neptune, im with Bellshill, but at 8's, he's plenty short enough for me at current prices. Looks like many are trying to avoid Min.

There the Deliotte next week in Ireland, again, many a clue over the next few weeks.

" reputations to be shattered "

Maybe. However, Massini's Maguire was beaten into third in 2007 prior to winning the Neptune at 20-1. Moulin Riche finished 6th in 2005 before winning the Albert Bartlett.

Also the Neptune trial is run on the new course as opposed to the Neptune itself that's on the old course.

Fehilly on Charmix ( probably due to the Heavy ground ) so it will be interesting to see what Walsh makes of Shantou Village.
