Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin v Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez 2 - £10 Cash prize

Postby TeddyT » Wed Sep 12, 2018 2:02 pm

The eagerly awaited rematch between GENNADY ‘GGG’ GOLOVKIN and SAUL 'CANELO' ALVAREZ finally takes place on in the early hours of Sunday 16th September and we are inviting OLBG members to add their tips with comments for the chance to win a £10 prize.

The big fight takes place once again at the T Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, and we are going to consider tips with comment analysis placed on all the available markets for the £10 prize. To qualify the tip/s must be added in the monthly competition in the usual way using the 'Make a Tip' menu -

https://www.olbg.com/members/maketip.php?id=17

We will be looking for detailed analysis that will highlight some or all of the following:

- Both fighters boxing strengths/style..
- Career records, KO stats, previous title fights etc...
- Fights on foreign soil/Vegas etc..
- Plus any relevant information that you feel is key to your tip.

Canelo managed to come out of the first fight with a draw after one of the judges amazingly scored him as winning the fight 118-110 which resulted in major controversy as most people were convinced that GGG had done more than enough to win.

Since then further controversy has been added when Alvarez failed a drug test, which his team put down to him eating contaminated meat.
Following the failed drug test and other arguments about the split over the revenue from the fight, there has been a lot of heated exchanges between the two camps and the cordial respect that two fighters had for each other before the first bout now definitely seems to be a thing of the past.

It looks certain to be a great fight and everyone around the globe will be looking for some betting guidance, so make your comment stand out from the rest so those reading on the App, mobile or desktop will take note!

The comments team will judge ALL the tip comments as it's the excellent content analysis we are judging not just winning tips and will announce the £10 Cash prize winner on this thread and the cash will be paid directly into the winners OLBG account.

We look forward to judging your excellent analysis for OLBG followers again this week.

Enjoy the fight if you are staying up for it and good luck with your tips!

Thanks to all the members who added tips and analysis on the Golovkin v Alvarez rematch.

Those shortlisted were karlmcgowan, rockabilly kat, mrd105, valverde, petethebet, milasantiago and although the fight judges decision went with Alvarez we felt abarrybonds Golovkin tip comment was the most informative and won the £10 this week -

"The Fight everyone has been anticipating and waiting for since that Controversial Split Decision Draw a Year ago.
A lot has happened since with Alvarez banned for 6 months for failing TWICE a Drugs Test for Clenbuterol.
He has not even had the opportunity for a warm up fight prior to this showdown unlike GGG who beat Vanes Martirosyan in 3 brutal one sided rounds before Knocking him out in the 3rd for his 34th KO in 39 Pro Fights.
Last Year neither Boxer went down and are more than capable of going the Distance again, I feel Golovkin technically is the better of the two and he was the better finisher in 10 of the 12 rounds and managed to outpunch Alvarez 218-169 in punches landed.
He was also much stronger in the later rounds as Alcarez seemed to tire after quick bursts in the opening minutes of a round.
Never dropped in 389 Professional and Amateur Fights combined he looks to take what is rightfully his, and
this Weekend Gennady Golovin will be the Un-Disputed Unified champion for the 6th time in a row."

Well done to abarrybonds and thanks again to everyone who added tips and comments.
