Scottish League One 14/10/17

East Fife v Albion Rovers - kick off 3pm

League One is a strange division in as much as the teams in 2nd, 3rd and 4th all have considerably better away records than home ones. The most extreme contrast of the three is Albion Rovers who until their last match had taken all their points away from home with a perfect 4-0-0 record. If that was not enough encouragement to support the away side, they got their first win at home last time out against leaders Raith, so confidence should be high in the camp. East Fife sit in 5th place having won 2 and lost 2 at home. The two wins were against Forfar (lost all 4 away) and Alloa (d2 l2 on their travels). The home defeats came against Raith and Queens Park (lost other 3 on the road). The balance of East Fife's home form this season so far suggests they will struggle to take anything off Albion on Saturday

Sunday 15th October 2015
Bayer Leverkusen vs Wolfsburg.
Odds: Home 1.57 Draw 4.2 Away 5.75.
Both sides have had topsy turvy starts to their league campaigns this term. Leverkusen have just just twice so far compared to Wolfsburg's one win.
Wolfsburg though have made a positive start under new manager Martin Schmidt. They have drawn their last two league matches;including their come from behind draw at Champions Bayern Munich.
Their head to head in the league in their past seven meetings show that Wolfsburg have won four and lost just twice in that period.
Backing Wolfsburg to give their new manager his first league win.
Underdog of the weekend Wolfsburg to win @5.75 from bet365.

Saturday 14.10.2017
Greek Super League

Panionios v Olympiakos @ 1830

The hosts lost their unbeaten record last time out away at Lamia but do remain unbeaten at home with two wins and a draw. They did beat Olympiakos away in the reverse leg of this fixture last season in February this year and then again in a friendly in July and with the champions struggling with just a single win in their last five competitive matches of which they have lost the last three on the bounce and with a trip to Nou Camp on Wednesday coming up, I do expect the hosts to pile up more misery for the champs.

Accrington vs Coventry - League Two, 3pm ko Sat14th

Accrington Win @ 3.80 (bet365)

Accrington are a decent League Two side and i imagine will be close to or in the play-off places come the end of the season. Under manager John Coleman they finished 4th in 2015-16 but missed out on play-offs last season(2016-17) after a shocking first half of the season but took 30 points from their last 14 matches. This season they're currently 6th and averaging just under 2 points a game (23pts from 12), which is automatic promotion form. Last season they won 5 of 11 home matches to top half opponents and this year are 3-1-2 (WDL) at home, losing their most recent home match 2-0 to Luton.

Coventry are/were one of the League Two favourites, currently 4th favourite for promotion, and most weeks are priced as the big(gish) fish. Currently sitting 5th with the same points but better goal difference than Accrington suggests they will be promotion contenders. But they're 2-2-2 (WDL) on the road this season with their last away game being 0-0 at Barnet. It was live on Sky, I thought Coventry were the better side on the day but didn't look like a team that would be battering better league two teams on the road. I really fancy Accrington's chances, and think 3.80 is a superb price for the team with home advantage.

Saturday 14th at 7pm
France Ligue 1
Lille v Troyes

TROYES to win @ 51/10 (Unibet)

This seems a crazy price for TROYES, a side that have won both their away games against sides currently below them, 2-1 at Nice and 1-0 at Metz. They have won two on the bounce, the Metz result and a 2-1 home win against eighth placed St Etienne before the international break. Lille won their first match of the season here 3-0 against Nantes but since then have gone six without a win, four defeats, two draws and scoring just the once in those six games. Troyes won on their last visit here 3-1 in January 2016.

League 1, Saturday 3-00pm
Portsmouth 4/5 v MK Dons 7/2

Although MK were hammered 1-4 at home last week by Bradford they did play with only ten men
for 85 minutes of that game and they were still in it until the last 20 minutes and the visitors do
have the best away record to date in the division. MK had gained ten points from the last four
games ahead of that match and have also won three of their last four away games, keeping clean
sheets in those victories
Pompey have won three of their six home games, losing twice and surprisingly lost here to Oldham
in their last home league game. The two sides have identical records of five wins, two draws and
five losses and with MK in slightly better recent form and going well recently on the road I think the
price of 7/2 to take the points is decent enough

premier League Saturday 3.00 . Burnley to beat west Ham 3.1 Bet Victor. West Ham are favourites at 2.63 and they go 3.2 the draw.

West ham have started poorly this season they have played 4 away games drawn 1 and lost 4 scoring only two goals and conceding ten. Burnley have reversed last season pattern and have been better away than at home , they have played 3 i loss 1 win and 1 draw. You must feel that they fancy a home win against a West ham that are struggling to find form even although they won they last game, a 1-0 win over swansea, who have also been out of form latley.

I have come up with a shortlist of 3 games that I fancy the underdog to be in with a decent chance of just edging the game to take the 3pts:

Wolves v Aston Villa (2/1 Ladbrokes)
Wolves have only dropped points in 4 of their 11 games this season with 3 of these games coming against the current top, 3rd & 4th placed teams.
Villa are currently in good form(last 8 games: W5 D3 L0) and could be challenging for top spot soon if they continue in this form and this could be another tough game for the home side.

Portsmouth v MK Dons (69/20 Marathonbet)

16 of MKDons’ 17pts have come against teams currently below them in the league, they are away to Portsmouth today, a team currently only 1 place above them also on 17pts.
I reckon the recent form of MK Dons, W3 D1 L1, gives them a better chance than the current odds (4.45)would suggest of maybe taking the 3 points today and could be worth a small stakes bet.

Northampton(19/10 Betfair Sportsbook) v Wimbledon
Two teams with very poor scoring records,
Northampton have gone 5 games without scoring a goal and have scored a total of 8 goals in 12 games
Wimbledon have gone 4 games without a goal and have scored a total of 5 goals in 12 games
Northampton were thrashed 6-0 in their last game but prior to that they had only conceded 3 goals in 4 games and they may just be the better of these two poor teams and if the game does not end 0-0 the points could be there for the taking by the home team.

Despite their heavy 6-0 recent defeat I will have to select Northampton as my underdog this weekend to possibly take advantage of facing a team with a scoring record that is worse than their own!

Northampton to win at 19/10 or 2.90 Saturday 3:00pm England League One

A lot of evenly matched teams this weekend and most of my original fancies came from the Championship with the final shortlist all being from that division.

Bolton (4.50) haven't scored for a while, in fact not many previously to this barren spell either, but at least they are losing by smaller margins. Sheffield Wednesday had been slipping before their fine win against Leeds, and a repeat of that form would leave Bolton with nowhere to hide.

Barnsley (4.50) entertain Middlesbrough in a match likely to be dominated by the respective defences. Neither team is in great form and a single goal may settle it either way. On that basis alone, I would favour the outsider.

Millwall (4.25) travel to Brentford in a battle between a team with a 0-4-1 home record against one with a 0-3-2 away record. I think Brentford are in a false position in the league, but their results don't really warrant a higher placing. Millwall have drawn 3 of their last 4 away games (at Preston, QPR, and Bristol City). The other was a 1-0 defeat at Wolves and this should prove easier than any of those 4 matches.

Saturday 15.00 Championship

Brentford 2.05 Draw 3.75 Millwall 4.25

Sunday 15th Oct
FRANCE: Ligue 1 KO 4.00PM
Montpellier v Nice

Nice travel to Montpellier on Sunday and face a real test of character over there. Montpellier managed a 0-0 draw at home with PSG and also got a point away at Monaco (1-1) before the international break. Nice have to win to come back towards the top of the table. They are only 10th and their home defeat in the derby against Marseille (4-2) before the international break has hurt them a lot. They were 2-0 up and totally crumbled

Nice have Balotelli their top scorer with 5 goals he scored in Marseille game and as usual Balotelli had words with teammates at coaching staff after that defeat the way they lost , So I expect a fired up team as they would have worked on there 442 set up that they play with defence the main aim to work on , Nice have not lost in last four H2H with 3 wins and a draw

bet365...3/2 - 11/5 - 2/1 . Nice win @ 2/1

Sunday 15/10
English PL
Brighton v Everton

Brighton 3.25 @Betfred, draw 3.30 @Interwetten

Brighton have been a surprise packet in the EPL early in the season finding themselves mid table before this weekends games with 2 home wins under their belt.
Starting the season with a tough home loss to Man City 0-2 wasn't such a bad result and I don't think the visit of Everton will be causing too much concern in their current form having yet to win away and with only one win in the last 5 games.
Brighton's defense has been pretty good so far they just need a bit more up front where as Everton are struggling all over the park and with only one away goal for, getting any sort of result today looks a long shot.
