Underdog of the weekend, week 25

Postby mazeymay » Tue Feb 14, 2017 2:22 pm

This thread each week is looking for any underdog in the 1X2 markets on all divisions, cups and Internationals

It can only be on an underdog and not the fav or the draw. Discussion and reasoning as to why you are backing the underdog will be helpful as we don't just want a long list of teams as that is no good to anyone.

The selection must be the larger price of the 2 teams (ignore the draw in your calculations and reasoning)

E.G Chester 2/1, Draw 3/1, Aldershot 11/4. Aldershot would be allowed for the purpose of this thread, as they are the underdog of the 2 teams.

Please get studying for next week!!

Your underdog can be any price as long as its the bigger price. Please quote the best price you have seen.

Please only choose 1 underdog as i am sure you will be most confident about 1 of them and that is the one we want to read about.

The point behind the thread is for members to assist others, so please do your best and have your say on others underdog of the week.

This thread is for matches taking place at the weekend of 17th, 18th and 19th February

The member who makes the best contribution to the thread could win a forum reward, so as well as choosing your own underdog please contribute your thoughts to other members underdogs posts. If you make 2 + good posts you have a good chance of a forum reward. 1 for your own selection and other posts for commenting on others selections

Those members who have knowledge of different leagues can discuss and advise others

The member who posts up a winning selection with the highest odds could now win a £5 forum award
Please post an interesting write up of the match and why you think your selection can upset the
fancied team according to the bookmakers prices
Please check for the highest possible price on your underdog by using oddschecker etc
along with the date and kick off time

There is also a chance to win a £20 forum award by selecting four winning underdogs on the bounce
If two or more members achieve this then the member with the highest winning combined odds will
win the prize. Your write ups will also need to be interesting and also why the underdog is a good selection

Good luck all members

League One - 18.2.2017

M Keynes vs Fleetwood - Fleetwood@3.60

Fleetwood are on a fantastic unbeaten run of 15 games now. They have won 3 of their last 4 away games and are up to 4th in the league.M Keynes have only won once in their last 4 matches and have only won 4 games at home all season from 16 games. No idea why the bookies have M Keynes as favorites although odds have been dropping a little since yesterday.

FA Cup
18.02.17

Millwall - Leicester
Millwall @3.28 in Pinnacle

Millwall is unbeaten in 12 games(8 wins and 4 draws) and they have kept 5 clean sheets in a row. They've also conceded just 1 goal in the last 7 matches - that's something what usually only Atletico Madrid would do. Millwall have lost 5 homegames so far this season but they haven't lost at home since early december. Meanwhile Leicester have won just 1 of the last 7 games and they have still won just 2 awaygames this season although they did won away against Everton in the 4th round last month. However i don't think that Musa can led them to next round yet again because i expect Leicester to make atleast 7+ changes to their squad as game against Sevilla is on wednesday. Millwall have won 5 of the last 8 h2h games. And as they've already knocked 2 PL teams out then i hope that they'll do that again on saturday.

Cambridge Utd vs Newport County
Sat 18th Feb @ 3pm

Cambridge Utd scored an 89th minute equaliser at Yeovil LTO. That was their first point in 5 games and was their first goal in 4 games. They now face a Newport side, currently bottom, but who are unbeaten in their last 6 games. They have drawn 5 of those 6 games, but recently held high flying Donacster Rovers and although they haven't won away in their last 6, they are clearly in better form than Cambridge Utd and with so much at stake, could cause a surprise.

Newport County to win 17/5 Betfair

Another underdog worth mentioning are Morecombe. They travel to Crawley, on the back of a 1-0 defeat against Barnet, their first defeat in 7, where they played 70 mins with 10 men. Crawley beat Colchester Utd in midweek, their first win in 5.

Poland Ekstraklasa
17.02.17
Termalica BB Nieciecza vs. Lechia Gdansk

Termalica BB Nieciecza @ 3.75 (William Hill)

Nieciecza KS are quite strong at home, having secured 5 wins and 2 draws of their last 10 matches. They really need to win this match to keep competing for the European competitions spot.
Lechia Gdanks performance dropped of late, have suffered 2 losses in their last 4 matches. They have also suffered 2 consecutive defeats on the road.

Exeter 4/5 v Stevenage 15/4
The hosts had been on a fantastic run of twelve games unbeaten, winning ten
That came to an end last weekend when they were comfortably beaten away
at Plymouth 0-3. That looked a small blip when they were cruising to a midweek
win at Notts County, only to concede twice in added on time and turning what
would have been a decent three points into just one with the 2-2 draw. I think
they are worth taking on right now with those two recent results as it will be
interesting to see if they suffer a lack of confidence after that great run

Stevenage have won their last four games, they have beaten Grimsby and Crawley
who are both in the middle 3rd of the division, Wycombe who are in 7th and 3rd
bottom Cheltenham. They have a reasonable away record with seven wins and two
draws from fifteen games
The reason for selecting Stevenage is more about very recent results rather than
the overall form of the sides

Serbian league Friday 4.00 Mladost Lucani v Radnicki Nis can only find it in SkyBet and not oddschecker but SkyBet have Lucani at 23/10 and Nis 6/5

I am picking Mladost Lucani in this match as their have won 4 out of the last 5 home games in the league scoring 10 goals and only conceding 1 goal and keeping 4 clean sheets in them 5 home games.Radnicki Nis have lost 3 and drawn 2 out of their last 5 home games in the league scoring just 4 goals and conceding 10 goals.Lucani are in 5th place in the league and Nis are in 7th place in the league. The reason Lucani are available at such good odds is their overall recant form is not that good with just 1 win 3 draws and a loss from their last 5 games but 3 of them were away from home the 2 home games was a draw and a win so I think their home form gives them a chance of winning this games as the underdogs.

I have a few underdogs this weekend and Mladost is one of them. Very surprised to see them at such odds. Haven't been able to identify my favourite 'dog yet though
