Only 3 away favourites in the league this weekend, one in each division. If it is taken for granted that Rotherham will be the outsider in virtually all of their games at the moment, that leaves just two others.

Hence the shortlist commenced with hardly any omissions at all.

Some pruning took it down to eleven and then I found that one was postponed due to the FA Cup, so conveniently ten.

Group A.

Norwich (1.75)
Preston (1.95)
Bolton (1.91)
Scunthorpe (1.50)
Mansfield (1.80)

Group B.

QPR (2.10)
Bristol Rovers (1.80)
Bury (2.50)
Fleetwood (2.30)
Northampton (2.30)

A small selection from which to choose today, but there are some that appear to be fair value at slightly bigger odds.

Group A.

Barnsley (3.30) v Wolves
Brentford (2.90) v Aston Villa
Nottm Forest (1.80) v Rotherham
Luton (2.00) v Cheltenham

As an alternative, or addition, Sheffield Wednesday are 2.63 at Bristol City and that also looks attractive.

The continued run of higher odds selections winning means that although LSP is not damaged, the SR is. As a greater SR is needed to take full advantage of the multiples, they are affected too.

Here goes for this week.

Group A.

Crystal Palace (1.73) v Sunderland
Bradford (1.67) v Gillingham
Crawley (2.80) v Stevenage
Doncaster (1.44) v Morecambe

Group B.

Everton (1.73) v Bournemouth
Watford (2.15) v Burnley
Nottm Forest (3.20) v Aston Villa
Chesterfield (2.82) v Oldham

Group C.

Port Vale (3.70) v Peterborough
Walsall (2.40) v Northampton
Exeter (1.67) v Crewe
Hartlepool (3.00) v Yeovil

A similar scenario last week with SR slightly down but LSP fine by comparison.

I was too late getting home so when Sheffield Wednesday's result jogged my memory that it was a Friday game, it was, shall we say, a bit too late to do much about it - so the shortlist became shorter and was trimmed to these 11.

Nothing currently above Evens in this selection, so a better SR is on order.

Group A.

Brighton (1.55) v Burton
Gillingham (1.85) v Port Vale
Scunthorpe (1.73) v Shrewsbury
Luton (1.67) v Crawley
Mansfield (1.70) v Hartlepool
Portsmouth (1.73) v Accrington

20 trebles, 15 4 folds and small stake 5/6 folds

Group B.

Derby (1.95) v bristol City
Leeds (2.00) v Cardiff
Norwich 91.80) v Nottm Forest
Northampton (1.85) v Chesterfield
Yeovil (1.91) v Leyton Orient

I've switched from Accas to doubles and an ACCA in recent weeks and I've made a steady profit. But when is a double bet not a double?!

This weekend in have four selections so instead of doubles I've also gone for trebles and an ACCA. If I have five selections one week I might got for doubles, trebles, fourfolds and an ACCA.

Should I remain to be disciplined and stick to doubles no matter how few selections I have?

Obviously with doubles you are being careful, more likely to get a winning double than a winning treble/four fold etc. I would always add a double so at least some return was forthcoming to make me feel my efforts were worth it.

Today i am off to Warwick so placed my bets last night, including these as singles, and doubles, trebles, etc.

Storm King @ 7.50
Putting Green @ 4.50
Armedanddangerous @ 7.00
QPR 0.0 @ 2.150
France -6.0 @ 2.00
Plymouth 0.0 @ 1.975

The two footy bets are half time bets.

I usually do ACCA for weekend football, low odds but winning percentage is high.

Very few matches with system appeal this weekend, but the final list amounted to these five.

Cardiff (1.55) v Rotherham
Sheff Utd (1.62) v Scunthorpe
Southend (2.05) v Northampton
Blackpool (1.75) v Crewe
Newcastle (1.65) v Aston Villa (Monday)

Still a few too many draws for comfort, but at least teams are keeping up a viable record of avoiding defeat; something I may look into for next season.

Coventry and Exeter just missed out on the final list this week.

Group A.

West Brom (2.10) v Bournemouth
Newcastle (1.53) v Bristol City
Preston (2.15) v QPR
Morecambe (2.90) v Grimsby

Group B.

Everton (1.40) v Sunderland
Fleetwood (2.10) v Northampton
Colchester (1.80) v Hartlepool
Notts Co (2.45) v Yeovil

Group C.

Brentford (1.50) v Rotherham
Doncaster (1.90) v Accrington
Mansfield (1.75) v Newport
Wycombe (1.80) v Crawley

Time and postponements prevented me posting earlier.

Simply for the record the following were the 9 teams on the list - which were hurriedly changed to trebles and 1/2 stake 5 timers only.

Aston Villa
Bolton
Bury
Northampton
Rochdale (P)
Scunthorpe
Walsall(P)
Plymouth
Stevenage.

Brighton just missed the cut.
