2012- £500 Paddy Power - Last Man Standing

Postby nors » Sun Jan 08, 2012 11:19 am

Back by public demand is a 2012 Paddy Power LMS.

All OLBG members can get FREE ENTRY into this new and exclusive OLBG only £500 Last Man Standing competition.

If you haven’t played these before, they are great fun!

You simply have to pick a premiership team each week and if that team wins then you are through to the next round! The last one standing wins £500!

The tricky bit is you cant pick the same team more than once (unless we go past 20 weeks!). You can choose one round of fixtures where you can nominate the win and the draw. Will you use this to stay in early on or save it until near the end?!

This private OLBG members only tournament starts this weekend so be quick

Here is how to join in...

1) Register an account with Paddy Power via this link - Paddy Power. You don’t have to deposit any money but we have an excellent £200 of free bets exclusive offer for you if you do. If you already have a Paddy Power account then move onto 2)

2) Click this link - here, this one - you have to click here!!!. Then you will be sent to the Paddy Power last man standing site.

3) Log in using your Paddy Power account details

4) Click "Join a private tournament" and enter tournament name LMSOLBG1 (in capitals)

5) Enter our passcode - 14012012 make sure you dont leave any spaces after the code (if you copy and paste the code, sometimes spaces are left - make sure you delete any that maybe there)

6) Enter your selection for week 1 :)

Best of luck and remember to register quick as it starts on Saturday 14th January

NB.
You must have a Paddy Power.com account and must have placed a bet within the past six months.
Only one entry per person, anyone found with duplicate accounts will be disqualified and will not be eligible for prize money as will anyone who passes the password onto non OLBG members.

Please let us know your week 1 selections on this thread along with any theories about how to win these tournaments.

Hi Nors,

Have just entered into the LMS with Paddy Power and picked the very safe, famous last words, Tottenham.

Whilst I am not the most knowledgable or luckiest person when it comes to LMS, I would say that the trick is not to be too clever with your selections. I have tried this before, that is trying to keep the so called better teams till later, only to be let down by a riskier selection early on.

Do look ahead at forthcoming fixtures, so that if you are lucky enough with your selections, you can almost map out your selections for the rest of the competition.

Do keep an eye on injuries, european fixtures as those involved tend to rotate players and probably most importantly, back teams that are IN form. Sometimes league postions are not a true reflection as Sunderland have shown.

Good luck everyone.

Bit of a contradiction there!!!!

You say look at the fixtures and you could map out your selections all the way through, which is what i and many others do then you say back a team in form, sorry but it's impossible to pick your teams for 10 weeks then back an inform team

How about previous LMS winners?

Did you have a strategy? Is there a strategy

Was it Lady Luck?

For me - i have gone out in round 1 or round 2 in previous comps!

Maybe a long term study of the fixtures would help

I got down to the last 5 in LMS2

I took my draw the previous week and didn't need it and in my final week i took QPR and they drew which left Tottenham to win it, i worked my teams out and if i had used the draw in QPR's week i think i would have won as my next 3 teams all won

But that's football i guess

Thanks for this, just signed up, hopefully I can do better than the FA Cup LMS in which I changed from Tottenham/Aston Villa to Tottenham/Bolton only for the latter to draw and the former to win.

I have gone with Newcastle at home to QPR for this one. I think Man Utd have an easy time against Bolton but I would rather save them. Chelsea against Sunderland is no easy task, nor is Liverpool vs Stoke. Man City and Tottenham are 2 strong teams I would rather keep hold of for now too.

Newcastle are off the back of a 3-0 win against Man Utd and QPR just lost their manager today, hopefully save the 'bigger' teams for a rainy day and use this less obvious one for now.

Hi Micko,

I understand what you are saying and take it on board. But it is one thing having a plan for the coming weeks on LMS, but Im sure you would agree you need to be able to change if your selection is having a mare.

I hope that makes sense.

Good luck Micko and I hope we are the last two standing.

It pains me as a Wolves fan, but I have gone for Tottenham.
Wolves have been terrible away from home all season and it doesn't look like changing going to play Spurs at home, who have been excellent this season.

I can't see past a Tottenham win.

I almost went for Newcastle given that QPR have just lost their manager and are on a shocking run of form. However, it will be Newcastle's first game without Ba and Tiote, so I think it would be sensible to avoid betting on them until they have proved they can still play as well as they have been without 2 of their best players.

Never tried this before,so here goes..

Went for Man Utd here, didn't really want to use them straight away but there looks to be some dodgy games imo, like the arsenal, liverpool spurs games..

Cheers :win:
