Argentina won all 3 group games, possibly without being at their best. Unless the group games are as good as they get. Im thinking a very low scoring first half. Switzerland success in getting to WC was all about being difficult to beat - so their game vs France could have been a blip defensively.

But even allowing for that I am liking BTTS @ 1.9ish. Argentina seem to have too many men on the pitch not wanting too work hard tracking back or working hard without the ball and Swiis def able to score. I cant see Swiss keep Argies out for full 90mins either.

Not too hot in Sao Paulo, although obviously the close to midday sun is out

First quarter of match over and Argentina barely giving the Swiss a sniff of it...

:?

...first half over and despite the possession they've not shown anything.

argentina @1.9 looks like a lay in-play.

some dull old fare - at least the half time draw came in, again. That's six out of seven so far in the second round.

This has to liven up, surely.

Would you lay Argies though? Considering what has happened in all their other games... Messi popping up just when they need it?

I layed at KO, would be wary of laying at this price.

Anything over evens would be a back.

Switzerland need to win this now, they deserve it having matched Argentina first half. Hard for them as how they make their chance and score goal is a problem, just need to fluke or nick one hehe

Switzerland are average team at best you cannot have defence based on Senderos often and Djourou there today and actually be good.

SO what this shows is just how poor Argentina really are INCLUDING MESSI hehe he is just a product of an unperceptive global media bandwagon.

Chances are Argentina step it up or fluke nick a goal, as they have been toothless, but still are not value for these odds live @1.7 Vs Swiss @7

I think will be 1-0 FT win for somebody, but again no bet

Another slow burner methinks so hopefully a much better 2nd half.

Cant believe some of the analysis from bbc 'pundits' who get paid vasts sums of money and a free trip to the World Cup. Cut to studio and they say something about that's not the incident packed match or attacking Swiss play they were expecting! A quick bit of my own analysis pre-world cup plus reading some other very good posts here I'd established Swiss are a defensive team (only letting in 6 goals in WC qualification and 4 of those in 1 match) who generally score either 1 or 2 goals in a match. Then throw in Argentine performances against Iran and Bosnia at WC and surely the 1st half was pretty close to what you would expect.

Swiss must be very happy how this has gone so far. On the break looks swiss strongest method of creating chances, but surely Djourou cant go 90mins without a hideous mistake ..... which makes their excellent defensive record slightly surprising to me. Or some Messi magic.

Please can we have a goal soon!!!

Once again a 0-0 half time knockout game involving a European side. Will the Belgium vs. USA game go the same way? Is this indicative of the approach taken by European sides and the difference between that and the approach of South American sides?

Both Higuain & Di Maria have been awful this WC - any coincidence they both play for Real Madrid??
