Postby Jim Brown » Fri Dec 13, 2013 9:29 pm

Use this thread to post any stes and resources that are useful and helpful resources for betting on Ice Hockey.

The obvious one, and a great overall resource is

http://www.nhl.com

Also from member Epic

http://www2.dailyfaceoff.com

For betting comparisons
http://www.oddschecker.com/ice-hockey/nhl

Stats etc.
http://www.extraskater.com
http://www.espn.com
http://www.covers.com/sports/nhl/nhl_main.aspx

Please feel free to add any others on this thread. A short description is helpful too. I will add all the links to the top post, but leave the descriptions below for reference :win:

I've been using http://espn.com

Not so great for up-to-date team news as I've recently found out but the stats section is pretty good and really easy to navigate

I'm a bit of a stats freak and in the sports world I have noticed a trend in last couple of years, where it's becoming very popular. Over the bond of course they have been using deep stats for years, but also for European football now we have sites like whoscored.com and squawka.com.

Anyway, for NHL extraskater.com is the place to go. You can literally get lost for hours on the site, which offers so much deep stats. For example puck possession stats, which to my knowledge, you can't find from anywhere else. Also shots/goals per 60 minutes, which I think is a much more relevant stat than the usual numbers we found on various sites.

It's tough at first to get a hang of it with all the abbreviations, but you can easily find what all of them mean by simply googling.

Edit: www.covers.com/sports/nhl/nhl_main.aspx another good one as well.
If you can't beat them, join them. When will the bookies join OLBG?

Both the NHL and ESPN websites have easy to navigate schedule checkers whether you want a single day, week or team specific view

urnigue, There is the Ice Hockey comp on the forum which features European fixtures.

http://www.olbg.com/forum/topic26_57658.html

Members do discuss Ice Hockey fixtures on here and if you know Ice Hockey it would be good to get your input on the forum.

As a matter of fact i would like to have more info about Ice Hockey as maybe its a sport where UK bookies are not so up to speed and prices may be on offer that we can take advantage of.

Unibet is the one I use for European hockey. They have many fields available such as teams to score individual goals and both teams to score 2 or more each as well as been able to back goal scorers in the biggest leagues like Russia KHL,Sweden SHL and Finland Liga. They also cover many minor leagues on here too which some of the bigger bet sites do not bother with.
