Mayweather v McGreogor Special

Postby LustForLeith » Fri Aug 25, 2017 10:31 pm

Hi folks,

Not had a look at the special markets for a week or so and inspired by Taylor Swift releasing a new song (whose it about? Will she tour with Right Said Fred? How will her new album do?!) I found this tucked away.

Betway have a market for celebrities who'll be pictured ringside at the fight. I got in touch with them over live chat and after a bit they cknfirmed all that needs to happen is for the celebrity in question to be shown on the telly coverage.

I'm not sure exactly how they're classifying it. Will tbinclude coverage of the pre fights build up?

Whatever your thoughts are on the fight there's no doubt that it's captured the publication imagination. And with a captured audience there's a chance of a celebrity or two turning up!

Gossip site TNZ have a list of people said to be coming but take care as it's rumours!

The ones I like the look of being in attendance are the following

LeBron James 7/2 biggest star in Basketball is said to be bonding with new team mate Isaiah Thomas at the encounter.

Sylvester Stallone (7/2) Rocky! Makkng Creed 2 and has already backed McGregor on social media.

Mark Wahlberg (5/1) Another fan of McGregor and another actor whose starred in a boxing film. Also been involved in a lot of publicity for the fight.

Arnold Schwarzenegger (15/2) He's been filmed in a brief interview not backing either boxer but confirming he'll be in attendance.

Mike Tyson (10/1) Las Vegas resident and former heavyweight champion of the world. He's backed Mayweather publically.

James Corden (18/1) Bit of a long shot but the chat show host has already interviewed Mayweather in a pre fight tv show. Thanks to Carpool Karaoke a star in America.

There's more listed and depending on how long they keep this going tying in with more reports on whose going to he fight then this could be profitable.

Singles only available. I'm still not convinced about the ts and cs as Betway themselves don't seem that sure about them but this is the most hyped sporting event in years and the cameras may need as much coverage as possible if this doesn't last!

It's a risky bet but if a couple of them are spotted then your perhaps in profit. If some of the bigger priced names are pictured then Viva Las Vegas!

Might as well add another - most watched Pay Per View audience in US history. Expected to beat the record help by Mayweather at odds of 4/6.

If Betway spent as much time on their website as they do with splooging their cash on irritating TV adverts then they'd do a darn sight better than they do right now...that and their poxy Scrooge-like casino bonus system that involves your sports betting funds.

Mark Wahlberg has a rather large 'double or nothing' bet with Sean Combs after losing a bet a few years ago as he backed Manny Pacquiao to win against Floyd Mayweather. This time around, he's backing Conor McGregor to win so I'd imagine he might be one of the faces they put a focus on. I strongly suspect that Mark Wahlberg is going to do his dough in again.

Angelina Jolie is supposedly around as are LeBron James and Denzel Washington on that TMZ list but the bet is...will they be pictured ringside?

Alao...what feed were they watching? Am assuming Sky Sports not Showtime.

Shame that they don't have a results service like say, Paddy Power do.

If anyone bet on Mark Wahlberg, it hasn't been settled yet. He was apparently there but did fhey show him on screen?

Might have to somehow do some investigating.

...as to the fight itself? Felt Floyd bet on over 9 rounds or something. Sharps won, public mostly lost.

EDIT: Betway have settled Mark Wahlberg as a losing bet.

They're still counting but an early estimate is "mid-to-high 4 million buys".
