Most watched xmas tv show

Postby Decoro54 » Wed Dec 24, 2014 3:30 pm

Lads bet365 are offering 4-5 on mrs brown boys being the most watched tv show on xmas day. Im thinking of lumping on this to boost my betting balance for boxing day.

Next after mrs brown boys is eastenders @3-1 wit miranda @ 9-2 (dont know what tat show is). Personally i wont be watching any of these shows and dont really follow them but surely most people will be watching mrs brown boys.

Does anybody know whats going on wit eastenders or shed any light on what miranda is. thanks deco

The Eastenders storyline is about Mick & Linda

Mick (Danny Dyer) finds out that his pregnant wife was raped by his nephew and that alone would do for me to become top tv show on xmas day.

Miranda is a sitcom starring Miranda Hart, and the show on xmas day is part 1 of a 2 parter which is the final ever airing of the show.

For me, i would think the 2nd episode would have more viewings than the first

Mrs Browns Boys is aired at the same time as Downton Abbey which could affect their viewings.

The Mrs loves both shows and has decided to Sky+ Mrs Browns Boys, how many others will do the same?

Good luck if having a punt

Not being an afficianado of viewing figures, but if a programme, say East Enders, was recorded , would the fact that it was recorded not count as viewing figures, if that makes sense.

I don't think a show being recorded counts towards viewing figures.

Realistically, you could record a show on christmas day and watch it on boxing day, therefore it should count as most watched programme on boxing day, which is when you watched it

If that makes sense.

Decoro54, don't let that put you off, if you fancy a bet and think the price is value then have a punt, i would hate it if you were right and didn't bet

Looks like it'll be "Mrs Brown's Boys" for 'most overnight viewers' for the third year running judging by 'weight of money'.

Image

Watch out. Some bookies have put "The Queen's Speech" as 'combined BBC & ITV ratings' whilst others have not.

If you had bet on "MBB" beating the combined ratings of "TQS" last year, you'd have lost.

No idea why "EastEnders" wasn't the force it used to be. Can the last ever episode of "Downton Abbey" surprise? If the odds are anything to go by then "NO!!".

The showdown ~

BBC One:

5:15pm - Doctor Who
6:15pm - Strictly Come Dancing
7:30pm - Call the Midwife
8:45pm - EastEnders
9:45pm - Mrs Brown's Boys
10:25pm - Michael McIntyre's Big Christmas Show

ITV:

5pm - Paul O'Grady: For the Love of Dogs
6pm - ITV Evening News
6:15pm - You've Been Framed :sarcasm:
6:45pm - Emmerdale
7:45pm - Coronation Street
8:45pm - Downton Abbey
10:45pm - Our Cilla

I Think Eastenders at 5/1 go close this year. :win:
And peg back Mrs Brown's Boys"..

With the Beales story lines and the Carters.
But now got Vincent v Phil to liven it up.
Eastenders stories spoilt for choice this Xmas..
So could be a close one this year.

Never got into Downton Abbey but wasn't the last series said to be a bit of a let down?

The combined Queens Speech is an interesting one. No offence but I can't stand Eastenders and can't think of anything worse than watching it!

Those ratings last year were a lot closer than the betting suggested I think

The Queen (BBC One and ITV) - 7.82 million
Mrs Brown's Boys Christmas Special (BBC One) - 7.61 million viewers
EastEnders (BBC One) - 7.55 million
Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special (BBC One) - 6.98 million
Call The Midwife (BBC One) - 6.83 million
Miranda (BBC One) - 6.67 million
Coronation Street (ITV) - 6.41 million
Doctor Who (BBC One) - 6.34 million
Emmerdale (ITV) - 5.53 million
Downton Abbey (ITV) - 5.52 million
Source: Broadcasters' Audience Research Board (BARB)

Not a lot in it last year. MBB did win but not by much. Eastenders could be worth a bet @ 5/1

Anyway why are we posting on an old thread?
