Hi Everyone,
There is no reason why one cannot profit from horse racing or any other betting. To profit you must learn the rules of a game and adhere to them, not your own wishes, sentiments and expectations. When I started tipping horse racing, I used to get all wrong but gradually I started noting trends, and patterns, market movers, top trainers, etc. and things are changing gradually for me. Practice makes perfect and you must drop a failure mentality, winners don't quit, they keep learning. Your commitment to win must be 100% and with keen objective observation and wide study; read news on races, other punters insight and gradually you will be able to fine tune your judgement on the ability of your choice horses, and you will see them win or place.
Can you really profit from horse racing?
Re: Can you really profit from horse racing?
well what makes horse racing different than other types of betting, you definitely can however I would only advise if you are into the sports and not just betting randomly
Re: Can you really profit from horse racing?
I thought about just following the tips in the competition on here but i think there appear to be a few downsides to doing this?
- You may not get the price available
- I think 'BOG' is included which you may not get from your bookmaker used
- There seems to be no rule 4 deduction made to the settlement
I may be wrong though, so would be interested to hear if anybody does this successfully

Obviously, prices do change from when the tipster places their tips and when you place your bets so as you point out you are not guaranteed the price that they get and BOG as implied does very much depend on which bookie you bet with and if you have any account restrictions too!
In regards to R4s, yes they are applied to the tipster's tips as per the bookmaker rules, only if placed before the NRs come out etc. If you see a settled tip which has 'NOTE' attached to it then this will highlight any deductions etc.

Re: Can you really profit from horse racing?
Ahh ok on the rule 4. There are some pretty profitable tipsters here so in that case if you can get the price and hopefully not limited with bog bookmakers it could work then as far as i can see then. thanks
Re: Can you really profit from horse racing?
Sorry, another question. I can see the 12 months history for any tipster but is it possible to see further back than this?
thanks
thanks
