NRL Penrith Panthers v Manly Sea Eagles

Postby RogueWeka » Sat Jul 08, 2017 4:33 am

Manly are 6-0-0 ATS away from home on the back of a 6-0-0 away record. On the road they are 5-0-0 in winning games when leading at the Break and 5-2-2 and 5-3-1 in winning the 3rd & 4th 20 minute periods. Margin results has The Sea Eagles winning 2 games at 1-12 (Roosters[6pts]) & Raiders[2pts]) and 4 at +13 points (Cowboys[22pts], Rabbitohs[38pts], Titans[20pts], & Sharks[17pts]).

The Panthers were out Muscled against the Rabbitohs last start. They were more focused on not being Bullied by the Big Souths forwards and not playing the game. The first 3 tries for South Sydney were on the back of Panthers errors and 5 were conceded by uncharacteristic errors of judgement from the Mountain Men.

Manly played their last match away in Perth as a home fixture, and the travel may take the edge off them here, and with a salary cap issue being raised in the media this week their may be a weining in focus here too. Still, Penrith will have to contend with Marty Taupau running through the ruck, his form has been outstanding this season and with the Panthers typically one of the worst sides for missed first up tackles Manly should gain easy yards up the middle. Factor in a performance from Cherry-Evens as well, after being snubbed for Origin selection the second year running DCE has been a catalyst in the Sea Eagles great form, and with the form of Walker in the centres and Trbojevic at the back Manly should coast here.

But in highlighting all of the visitors accolades, I will also acknowledge the potentcy of the Panthers. They are phenomenal first point scores and have a reputation for scoring at the death. We have not seen a good performance against a top side from them yet and they have some senior players that need to put their hands up after a shocking display last week, and at Pepper Stadium on a dewy top they will be good enough to give a good account of themselves.

I'm going to invest in 4 markets for this one:

1) To score a try and Margin Result: Daly Cherry-Evens & Manly to win by 6-10 points, 1 unit @ 86-00
2) Panthers to score first and Lose the match 1 unit @ 4-00
3)Manly Sea Eagles to win 1-12 points, 1 units @ 3-25
4) Either side to win by no more than 6 points incl a draw, 2 units @ 2-87

Good Luck
