NRL Sydney Roosters v South Sydney Rabbitohs.

This in Australian Rugby Leagues oldest rivalry, and with it comes a great dislike for each other so expect a lot of passion in this one. Souths are coming in off a big win against Penrith last start. The 42-14 scoreline rather flatters the Bunnies IMO, it was more due to the Panthers playing poorly and Souths playing to their potential. To their credit they have made big improvements since the 8-46 home loss to the Sea Eagles in round 9, having 3 wins from their last 6 games including an 8 point loss to a full strength Storm along with 6 point losses to The Eels and Broncos. Adam Reynolds kicking game was the Blade that cut the Panthers open, but they will not be afforded that same Luxury against the Chooks.

Sydney City were humiliated against the Sharks on Saturday playing their "home" game away in Adelaide. A 20 minute spell that bridged the halftime break saw the Sharks run in 3 unanswered ties to knife the Roosters fatally, who like the Sharks the week before against the Sea Eagles, were spent from an avalanche of defence and could not summon the strength to launch any meaningful attack resulting in a shutout for the second spell. It was the most complete game played by Cronulla to date and their ability to turn on the taps that made them last seasons Premiers was on display against one of the title contenders. Without a doubt the Roosters will be affected by the absence of 5 starters on Origin duty, but not to the extreme that they should be written off. Souths got under Penrith's skin right from the outset and they upset the visitors rhythm, but at the cost of Captain Sam Burgess spending time in the Bin. This may have some bearing on this match as Burgess has had suspension already this season, and will be well watched by the officials so will have to tread carefully here and if he has to sit in the "Naughty Boys" chair during this game, 10 minutes with a man advantage to Sydney City maybe all they need to put this game to bed.
The Chooks need a redemption effort from their senior players also. They have the poor round 12 performance against the Raiders in Canberra to serve as motivation, when in the same situation prior to Origin and players on duty they were listless in the 24-16 loss.

I'm taking three markets in this one as I think this match is evenly poised and it may take one significant event through injury or disciplinary action that could tip the scales.

1) Sydney City Roosters to win by a margin of 6-10 points, 1 unit @ 7-00
2) South Sydney Rabbitohs to win by a margin of 6-10 points, 1 unit @ 6-50
3) Either side to win by 6 points or less including a draw, 1 unit @ 2-75

Good Luck.

Result Sydney City Roosters won 14-12.

No luck on the 6-10 margins but the cover bet option of Either Team to win by 6 points or less limited our loss to 0.25 unit.

Return of 1 unit at 2-75 less total wagered 3 units = -0.25 units
