£200 Six Nations 2017 Tipping Competition and Discussion
Re: £200 Six Nations 2017 Tipping Competition and Discussion
The one thing you need to be aware of... and it has killed a few of my bets in the last few weeks is the high tackle and the amount of yellow and red cards the new law (or tightening of an existing one) is having...

Interesting Jaydubs, i expect the Refs knowing that the eyes of the casual Rugby fan will be watching these games will want to be strict as they look to grow the game. The RFU may have indicated that they want the letter of the law adhered to.

10 points for a yellow, 25 for a Red, does the spread look low to you?

Nigel...
I would say that with 3 hailing from the south Sea islands for France and some runners who will find a gap .. from both sides... there could be a stray arm or two shoved out in defence....add to that that it may be a wet pitch you should also see some high balls... you can never tell but I would expect a card or two during the game

The Six Nations Tournament is always very fascinating. England have looked very impressive under Eddie Jones and again the Title is theirs for the taking but are they value at odds on? I don't think so and Away trips to Wales and Ireland will not make it easy. Ireland have been playing well and beat New Zealand recently to end NZ's unbeaten run albeit in USA. If Ireland can beat Scotland without Sexton and have enough creativity then Ireland could be the team to lift the trophy.
Wales often play well but lose the crunch games and that hinders there chances of lifting the trophy. France are still struggling with confidence and a number of new players to the squad could mean they are not good enough this year.
Italy and Scotland again will battle it out for the wooden spoon.
For top tryscorer i like the look of Rhys Webb 33/1 and Jonathan Joseph 12/1. Webb is fit again after a bad injury ruled him out of the world cup and often sniffs out a try when close to the line. Joseph is the go to man in midfield for England and has a very good try ratio for England.
My Bet of the tournament has to be no team to win the Grand slam at general 10/11. There will be the odd surprise this year and 10/11 looks a good bet.
Enjoy the six nations.

Currently watching the Italy Wales match....7-6...50 mins gone.
The OLBG (using the time machine? ) has already settled this in a low scoring 12 or 13 point victory to Wales?
Interesting...

Opening day fixtures and results:
Scotland 27 - Ireland 22
England 19 - 16 France
Italy 7 - 33 Wales
This weekend
Italy v Ireland
Wales v England
France v Scotland
Can any members advise some decent betting angles and opportunities on this weekends games.
Ireland need to bounce back, England need a better performance and i expect France -6 at 1/1 to cover the handicap. This looks a decent bet to me.

Ireland do need to bounce back but so do Italy and Italy will prove another tough match away for Ireland.
I make Italy +23.5 on the handicap my bet of the weekend, Wales won by 26 but it was close until Italy had a man sin binned and Italy led for a long time. If it gets into a scrap it could be a close Irish win.
Wales looked useful going forwards and probably would have scored more points for some missed penalties and going for the corner instead of taking the 3 points on offer.
England will find it tough in Cardiff against a passionate welsh team and crowd. I think Wales have what it takes to end Englands unbeaten run.
France v Scotland looks a tough one to call. France played well at times against England but still lost after leading with only quarter of the game to go. Scotland will be on a high after a win against Ireland but Scotlands record in Paris is poor. I think a small wager on scotland to win is the advice.

I make France - 6 a great bet. They were decent against England last week. England in game 1 at home were up for starting strongly and should have blown away the French, that fact that they didnt augurs well fro the French tomorrow. They are now the home team against a Scotland who did what England should have (as the home team) by beating Ireland. I don't expect the Scots to raise their game that much again and think France will cover the handicap at -6 @21/20. The 1st half may be tight but do think the French will start strongly and have the Scots on the back foot and then pull away in the 2nd half.
