I am always interested in the state of mind teams and players go into a tournament not just snooker but any sport, so Ronnie's pronouncements would put the fear of god into me if i was backing him at short odds. The 9/1 could be value?

So Robertson and O'Sullivan go through but both can play much better.

Sixteen players left in the tournament and the games start to hot up:

  • Hawkins v Murphy
    Higgins v Maguire
    Selby v Dott
    Trump v Allen
    Robertson v Perry
    Morris v Bingham
    Milkins v O'Sullivan

Trump v Allen looks the tie of the round.

Tonight's game between Higgins and Maguire could have a false favourite in Higgins. Maguire has won the last four meetings between the two players and Higgins appears very unhappy with his form and made a strange comment berating a commentator who was an ex-player. All does not appear well with Higgins so:

Bet: Maguire @ 6/5 Stan James

It would be great to hear from members new to the snooker forum as to who they fancy in the above games or to win the tournament outright

Yes Ted

The above was my thoughts exactly! Am going to go IR so hope that Maguire loses the 1st frame and then hit the odds!
Higgins seems to be finding it harder these days eh!
He is a bit of a comeback king tho so do not forget a short priced lay of Maguire if he gets a frame short of winning!

Maguire should be 3-1 up there! Silly red when 47 up and the pack open with all colours availble. Even plays the red at a pace where if it misses it stays over the bag. Should know better, had an easy safety. Bet he does not do that again.

2-2 and I'm on Maguire,I have stil seen enough of this match to join in

The same with Hawkins and Murphy, 2-2 there as well, and Hawkins 2.20,

Played Maguire in a single, and the pair as a small stake double at 3/1

Well done everyone on Maguire, 6-3 winner over Higgins

Now all we need is Hawkins, all square at 4-4 with Murphy now

Hawkins came through at 5-5 he came out for the 11th frame and knocked in a break of 70. Murphy had a couple of pops when he got to the table but the balls were not set for him to gain the 75 left

It's getting a little trickier as the round progress and the final pair i will play in round four are DIng and Mark Selby

I am not convinced by either O'Sullivan who was showing touches of boredom last time, and whilst Judd seems to be putting it together he is cut pretty muc of the same cloth right now. Robertson hasnt looked overly comfortable to me, so I shall avoid the trio

DING and Selby in a double today

As you know i am against Trump ATM and although he knocked in 3 centuries in his last match it really could have been a different story. His opponent got in first ( and had good chances) in most of the frames but his game was totally plagued by pretty consistent elementary errors.
I thought it was pretty easy then for Trump to play his natural game without too much of a concern for what his opponent might produce.

Mark Allen has won 3 titles this year to Trump's Zero and he is a growing force in the game. Super all round match player with good bottle and a battler.

They have the wrong favourite here in my opinion. I can't see Allen leaving Trump " in the balls " like he was left last round. He will find it a much tougher game from the back cushion. Can't wait for this one!

Ronnie's birthday today, will he celebrate with a win over Bingham? The odds are very short
