US Open Finals - £20 Best Tip Comment Prize

Postby PompeyJim » Wed Sep 06, 2017 4:59 pm

Hope you have been enjoying the tennis and some cracking matches at Flushing Meadow this past week or so.

As you are probably aware OLBG have been profiling the major sporting events during the summer and once again this week we are offering a £20 cash prize for the best tip comment on either of the Ladies (Saturday) or Mens (Sunday) US Open final..

To qualify, the tip with comment analysis must be entered in the tipping competition in the usual way using the 'Make A Tip' menu (link below) -

https://www.olbg.com/members/maketip.php?id=9

The comments team will judge the best tip comment from all available markets on either of the Ladies or Mens Final and will be looking for possible analysis to include :-

- Player form prior and during the US Open, any injury issues/scares etc…
- Career /current record on the hard court surface and at previous US Opens.
- Recent head to heads on hard courts.
- Player strengths/weaknesses, e.g. Serve, forehand, backhand, baseline, serve & volley etc....

Plus any relevant information that you feel is key and can give readers that edge in following your tip and placing a bet.

The comments team will announce the £20 cash prize winner on this forum thread and the cash will be paid directly into their OLBG account.

We intend to run a £20 "best comment" competition on one event each week and to encourage more people to get involved the £20 prize can only be won once by any member in a calendar month.

Good luck !

Big thank you to our tennis tipsters, some excellent analysis put forward for the Keys v Stephens match making it a tough choice to pick a winner. The men's seemed a little one sided beforehand with Nadal facing Anderson and that came across in the comments generally so we have chosen the winner from the Ladies Final.

The comments team have awarded the £20 cash prize to 21Jackpot -

"Madison Keys [16] and Sloane Stephens [83] have met once before (Miami 2015) with Stephens coming out on top that day (6-4, 6-2). Both women have a good record on hard courts this year with Keys winning 73% (15 wins, 3 defeats) of her matches and Stephens winning 82% (14 wins, 3 defeats) of her matches. Keys has the big weapons in this match. Her big serve has yielded decent stats in this tournament with the first serve percentage up at 66% and the points won off that first serve being 71%. Add that to the fact she he has averaged 32 winners per match thus far, it’s clear to see that her aggressive approach is working. Stephens has a first serve percentage of 66% in this tournament but Stephens is just 48% behind her second serve. The Stephens second serve is a big weakness and it’s something that Keys is likely to exploit. Keys has the momentum, particularly after her 6-1, 6-2 victory in the semi-finals. Stephens has to show she can match the level she showed in her 2hrs 7min semi-final epic against Venus Williams. That’s difficult to do and so MADISON KEYS gets the vote."

Well done to 21Jackpot and thanks to all members who added their tips and analysis for OLBG followers, on the two finals.
