2017 US Open Tennis Tipping Competition - £200 on offer.

Postby PompeyJim » Tue Aug 15, 2017 12:24 pm

The 2017 US Open Tennis tournament is fast approaching, the final slam of the 2017 season from Flushing Meadow commences on Monday 28th August and concludes with the Men's final on Sunday 10th September.

OLBG are offering members a chance to win a share of £200 in our FREE and easy to enter 2017 US Open Tennis Tipping Competition.

Please read the entry terms and competition details below and feel free to ask any questions on this thread.

Early look at the possible contenders in the Tournament Outright Winner Market (Mens & Ladies).

2016 Mens Champion Stan Wawrinka has already withdrew from the tournament and will miss the remainder of the season, along with Novak Djokovic who has also curtailed his 2017 season due to injury. Old warriors Federer and Nadal currently head the betting and both will be looking to add another major to their roll of honour this season with Federer winning the Australian Open and Wimbledon and Nadal remaining the King of Clay in the French Open. Nadal will regain the World Number One spot this week off Murray who has had a difficult season and the Scot will no doubt be looking to regain the top spot and win his second US Open. A new pretender looking to win his first major could be Alex Zverev who beat Federer recently to win the ATP Montreal title.

The ladies draw again looks wide open with Wimbledon champion Garbine Muguruza just shading favouritism at the time of writing ahead of last years losing US Open finalist Karolina Pliskova, Sharapova marks her slam return since her ban and a lively contender could be Elina Svitolina who looked in awesome form recently when taking the WTA Montreal title beating Wozniacki, Halep, Muguruza and Venus Williams en route.

Tipping Competition

Entry:

You do not have to enter this competition separately, if you are a member of OLBG then you just need to add Tennis tips (with comments) via the 'Make A Tip' menu (link below) in the same way as for the monthly Tennis tipping competition.

https://www.olbg.com/members/maketip.php?id=9

Prizes: 1st = £50, 2nd = £25, 3rd = £25, 4th-13th = £10.

The prize structure is £50 to the tipster with the highest level stakes profit, £25 to second and third and then £10 for members placed 4th-13th. The prize fund is in addition to the normal monthly cash prizes which you can still win based on the criteria for the monthly Tennis competition.

As usual, prizes are doubled for Elite Tipsters and trebled for Super Elite Tipsters for Tennis. If unsure, your current status can be checked via your ‘My Performance’ page -

https://www.olbg.com/members/myperformance.php

LSP?

This means Level Stakes Profit. So it doesn't matter if you select a stake of 50 or 500 for these tips. If you place a win tip on a 5/1 winner, you will then have a LSP of + 5 points. If you then have three losing win tips, you lose 1 point per losing tip and your level stakes profit will be down to + 2 points.

LSP>0

Members must finish the tipping competition with a positive level stakes profit to potentially qualify for a prize.

Tips 15 or more.

A minimum of 15 tips must be placed on the US Open Tennis markets to qualify, any members placing less than 15 tips over the duration of the tournament will NOT qualify even if finishing the competition with a positive level stakes profit.

Markets Available

All of the markets available to tip on the US Open Tennis will count towards this competition, this can be Outright Mens Winner and Ladies Tournament Winner plus the individual match markets, win match, correct set score, first set winner, number of games, number of sets and the handicap games.

Tipping Table

The competition tipping table will be updated and can be viewed via the link below -

Tip Comments

Tips without comments are excluded, you must add good comment reasoning as to why you are tipping each player when the tip is placed.

Poor comments or short comments on winning tips won't count. We just need a few good reasons as to why you are choosing the selection. The minimum requirement is at least 20 words explaining why you think your tip is a good bet for OLBG site and app users to follow.

Also no copy and pasting or duplicating comments on the same match, you will need different comments for each tip! For example, if tipping on Match Result, First Set Winner, Set Betting etc. Comment reasoning must be original and specific to each market and not duplicated across all tips. If the comments are not deemed of a good enough standard then the tips will be excluded from the tipping competition.

Comments will be checked and verified, if tipsters can ensure their comments adhere to the rules, are clear, and written and punctuated well as they are displayed on the OLBG website and mobile app. Lots of site visitors and app users are now following the advice, so lets show them the quality on offer !!

In a world dominated by the Big Four, the US Open has done its best to upset the apple cart in recent years. Once again, there will be no repeat Champion meaning not since the Fed Express from 2004-08 have we had a back to back winner.

Also, 3 of the last 4 men to win their debut Slam have done so at the US Open

Andy Murray has withdrawn from the US Open due to ongoing hip injury.
5th seed Cilic takes Murray's place at the bottom of the draw. Kohlschreiber moves into the 33rd seed in the top half of the draw.

With only Federer & Nadal of the Big Four left, and both players in the top half, will we get a new Grand Slam finalist?
