Hope it's not too late to join on this (as it's week 6 and I noticed it's running on Tuesday)

Nick Kyrgios, ATP Queens, 13.00 bet365

Kyrgios might not be one of these serve&volley types that are playing great on grass this week (Lopez, Muller) but rather a serve&crushing projectiles from the forehand type of guy. He can outserve anyone on the tour and his strong shots from the baseline will cruise down the line or the court even faster on the Queens grass. He should have no major problems in the opening two rounds where he will face Young (aginst whom he has two straight set win so far) and Tipsarević or Troicki (who are average players at this point). Then he could go against Isner or Čilić and neither of those big servers has an advantage over Nick. Murray is also in his part of the draw, but we all saw how he played in 2017th. This is an ideal surface for him, the better ranked-seeded players are not in some special form and I will gladly back the crazy Aussie with these odds.

We will see Birmingham and Mallorca Open in the WTA tour in the next week. The Birmingham tournament are bigger, than Spanish Open, so almost all top players choose the UK destination instead Mallorca Open. Kontaveit win her first tournament title today and step down to Mallorca in a middle strong field, so has a chance reach a good result again. Pavlyuchenkova is a first seed in Mallorca, but the Russian player has no impressive record on grass. The Estonian player will start against Vinci, who ran a terrible performance on clay, maybe the grass will change her performance. Kontaveit going to quarterfinal without a problem, because Vinci won't factor at the moment, Minella out in the first round in Hertogenbosch,

WTA Mallorca

Ana Konjuh 12/1 produced her best performance since January 2017 when reaching the semi finals on the grass at Hertogenbosch last week and she may gain confidence from that effort to win this. She has only won one WTA titlle so far and that was on grass in 2015 at Nottingham and she played well at Wimbledon last year and was unlucky to lose there to Aga Radwanska so she has some good form on the grass. Most of the best players are at Birmingham this week and this event is not strong in depth.

WTA Birmingham Dominika Cibulkova bet365 22/1
She is the number 1 seed in this and i think she is overpriced a bit at 22/1 but i can understand the price a little as she has not had the best of seasons so far winning 14 and losing 12.And i would not say grass is her best surface as in 2014 and in 15 she won 2 matches on grass and lost 2 and in 2012 she won 2 and lost 3 she has an overall record of won 32 and lost 20 on grass but last season was her best season on grass she played 2 events winning 9 and losing just once. She won an event at Eastbourne and she lost just 1 set to Radwanska and she beat Ostapenko,Bondarenko,Puig and Karolina Pliskova all in straight sets and she also made it to the qaurter-finals at Wimbledon last year. She has started this grass season badly playing just 1 match and losing it to A.Lottner who is ranked at number 161st in the world.
In this tournament she starts of against L.Safarova and these 2 have played each other 8 times and Cibulkova has won 5 and lost 3 and they have played 3 times on grass with Cibulkova winning 2 and losing 1 so it should be close as Safarova has beaten her on grass before but i am siding with Cibulkova as she leads the head to head overall and also on this surface.
In the 2nd round she should play L.Davis and these 2 players have never played each other but Davis has a overall record of won 16 and lost 14 on grass and her record last season on grass was won 1 and lost 3 so i think Cibulkova will also beat her.And Davis has played here 3 times making it to the round 16 stage in 2014 in 15 she lost in the first round and last year she lost in the qualification stage.
In the quarter-final stage she should face the number 9 seed Gavrilova and these 2 players have played just once and Cibulkova won that match in straight sets 6-3 6-2 and that match was played on grass at Wimbledon so i think she should win this match as well.
In the semi-finals she should face one of the 2 seeds from the other group and they are Petra Kvitova who has played here 2 times and never made it past the round 16 stage but she has got the upper hand on Cibulkova as these 2 players have played 7 times with Kvitova winning 5 and losing 2 but 6 of them was played on hard courts and 1 on clay but i would prefer her losing before the semi-final stage. So i would prefer her to face Mladenovic who is the other seed and Cibulkova has beaten her 5 times and lost just once but none of them matches was played on grass but i still think Cibulkova would go into that match as a strong favourite and i think she would win.
So at odds of 22/1 to win i definitely think she has a good chance of at least making the final the main obstacle's seem to be Safarova in her opening match or a possible semi-final against Kvitova.

Ivo Karlovic showed how dangerous he can be on grass as he reached the final in Holland last week which was his 7th tour final on grass and despite being unseeded, he finds himself in a favourable part of the draw as 3rd seed Nishikori & 8th seed Ramos-Vinolas have little grass court pedigree. Arguably Karlovic's toughest opponent prior to a potential SF with Federer, could be his 1st round opponent Michail Youzhny who has just come through qualifying here. Youzhny leads the h2h 3-1, but Karlovic won their only meeting on grass back in 2014 at this event. Karlovic's big serve makes him a tricky opponent for anyone on grass, and at 25/1 (BetVictor), he offers plenty of value

Crazy odds for Cibulkova, think that could be a very good tip.
Unlucky on Kyrgios, I had him down to make the SF in Queens.

My title tip this week is:

Jo Wilfried Tsonga to win Queens @16/1 with Skybet

I think Tsonga on grass is a pretty beautiful sight and he looked pretty good yesterday against Mannarino winning 6-2 6-2, a guy he lost to in Monte Carlo(?) this year.
Muller in R2 will give a good indication of his grass form but head to head would suggest a French win.
Murray in QF could be match of the tournament if it happens. Murray has great pedigree in the tournament but I don't feel he'll retain it this year considering his form has been up and down and he's got a tough line of opponents.
Kyrgios is out through retirement and Cilic's form isn't really anywhere so I think he'd win whoever he faced in the SF.
I expect to see Raonic in the final this year which is why Tsonga is my EW tip. I think that'd be tough for him but, you never know.

James Ward @7/2 against Benneteau has to be worth a punt tomorrow?

I know he's short of matches but he's had success here in the past and up against a 35 year old Frenchman who isn't ranked particularly highly then Ward could get the win if he builds momentum and the crowd give him energy. We know he's a player who thrives with a crowd onside.

Also like the look of:

Ferrer @5/4 v Haase: I know the latter won when they met in Auckland but grass is a pretty bad surface for Haase and I don't rate his game or his mentality so I think this is good value.
Lopez @11/8 v Wawrinka: A grass court specialist against a non-grass court player. Wawrinka doesn't seem to care for non-slam events and Lopez made the final of Stuttgart.
Paire @5/4 v F Mayer: I think Mayer is defending champion but he's in horrendous form this year with 2-11 as a record. He's ranked outside the top 100 so there's an awful lot of pressure on him. Paire showed good form to make the SF in Stuttgart last week.
Isner @6/4 v Cilic: Can't really work out Cilic these days but he's quite inconsistent. Cilic leads the head to head 6-2 but has lost their last two meetings and lost the mental battle with Karlovic last week.

Good luck all!

Anyone have the Thompson, Lopez, Kokkinakis treble?

Looking towards the future, how much of an impact do members think playing a lucky loser who he'd never played before had on Murray?

Is this a possible angle to move forward with?

Bit of a horror show yesterday, at least my Tsonga bet looks better.
