Player: Charley Hoffman

Tournament: RBC Canadian Open

Reasons: Hoffman has been in particularly good form including showing prominently in all 3 majors so far, including a top ten showing in the US Open and two 67s bookending his British Open challenge. Away from the Majors, Hoffman also has 5 top five finishes this year. He has two top 20 finishes in this event including a 7th in 2015. With Dustin Johnson still in poor form and Matt Kuchar having to get over the disappointment of missing out on his first Major last week, Hoffman probably represents the class pick of the field.

Outside of Hoffman, Jim Furyk has fantastic form in this event as does Chez Reavie, who has enough good form this season to suggest going well again this week.

Player: Steve Wheatcroft

Tournament: RBC Canadian Open

Reasons For Support:

Steve is a little inconsistent, seven missed cuts from fifteen PGA tour events this season backs up that theory but he also has a few positives which makes him interesting at big odds this week. His one top ten this season came at the St Jude Classic (T10) last month where he shot four rounds in the 60's and also did the same at the Barbasol Championship last weekend to finish in a share of fifteenth. The deciding factor is his record here in the Canadian Open with two previous visits, made the cut on both occasions with a best place finish in a share of fifth last year shooting ten under.

Player: Dustin Johnson

Tournament: Canadian open

Reason: Dustin showed he is coming back to form with a couple of good rounds in the open. He won 3 on the bounce before injuring his back and this tournament looks ideal for him to make the big comeback. He's played here twice before coming second in both. With the rest of the top players taking time off if seems this is his chance without the pressure of the rest around him. His game is amazing tho his mental game has to be there, I'm a little worried that if it doesn't go his way he could easily chuck it way. Just hope he gets off to a strong start as he plays better when on the top of the leaderboards.

Roger Sloan
Digital Ally Open
66/1 SkyBet
The top twenty five on the money list earn a PGA Tour card and with a first child on the way Roger has a big incentive to improve on his current forty fourth spot. The Canadian may be rounding into form at the right time, he has made his last three weekends with a seventh placed finish at the Pinnacle Bank last week. Has played well at the Nicklaus course previously, three cuts made, fourth last year, sixth four years ago. Speculative punt in what looks a wide open event
