Postby man o bong » Mon Jan 13, 2014 8:10 pm

So Ronaldo has scooped the Ballon d'Or for the second time, five years after he won it first

Is he the best footballer of not only this year but the last 5?

Ronaldo is good, Messi is good, but neither will ever be as good as ...............................................................................

Ade Akinbyi, the way he could miss from 4 yards out was breathtaking

Just look at him go HERE

Last 5 years
Ronaldo is an exceptional talent, as is Messi, and it is obviously betwen those two. I would say Ronaldo just shaves it because he creates so much as well as being a remarkable goalscorer ( and a scorer of remarkable goals) but how much fun would it be to see them play together?

Last 10 years
Same 2. No-one in the period 2004-2009 can eclipse them

Last 25 years. - 1979 to date...
The 80s and 90s were not great years for producing great players. There was a team ethic which stifled the most gifted players. In this country the likes of Hoddle and Le Tissier were overlooked more often than not and players like Keegan were more the mould; more perspiration than inspiration (although that is not to belittle Keegan's ability). You would probably have to say Zidane (although his behaviour in his last ever game for France rather blew his image) or maybe the "other"Ronaldo.

EVER

3 contenders...

Pele
Di Stefano
Beckenbauer

Take your pick.
