MadBlogMagee's 3 Pronged Attack 2012/2013

Postby madbobmagee » Sat Sep 01, 2012 1:30 pm

Well folks, time for me to follow on from my profitable blog last season that ended up just over 17pts in profit (Better or Worse blog in sig if you want a look). I still have to post up the full analysis of that season but I will strat my new blog today that will be slighty different as I will not be doing any trebles, just the best 3 of my weekly portfolio of opportunities as I see it.

I'm not guarunteeing any success but it will be a sensible approach to betting and an affordable adventure with discipline paramount. A 100pt bank will be used with 1pt stakes across the board. Most of the bests will be Over 2.5 and BTTS with a few other sneaky wagers throw in. I will also only be using bookies that I actually use so you may see a slightly better price somewhere else but I do use most of the firms on Oddschecker bar a couple. Sometimes the price wil be better on Betfair also so comission will have to be factored in there as an when it occurs. As we all know blue means profit and red means loss.

Anyway, lets get started with this week as its coming near KO.

Hey veedub, thanks for the support, hopefully I can generate some profit this year again.

Not a fantastic start to the blog but you can't win every week so I will be back after the International break to keep plugging away. I have made a few changes this year and I will just keep the total records as I go as it saves hassle later on. Most of the figues will look the same as its early days and I have had a change of heart as to what I was proposing at the beginning. I may on occasion play a 2-3pt selection or so if I find stand out opportunites but they will be rare enough as I like the flat staking plans. For example that Wigan v Stoke really should have been a 2pointer but I posted 1pt so that how its being calculated.

Wigan and Stoke did the business at very good odds which was odd I thought as surely Stoke were going to try and get something seeing as they have tougher fixtures ahead while Wigan were going to be Wigan, play football and try and score.

Everton were poor enough but all credit to West Brom, they played well as a unit and took the spoils. It could have been very different if Fellani had managed to score that header before the 1st Brom goal but Cest la Vie. Everton had the form and the price was there so I'm not going to lose any sleep over it.

Over in Scotland it was all about the non scoring abilities of both sides and fair dues as they both managed it very well, a single goal would have been enough for the 3 points here. The price on Dundee Utd was better than fair considering the considerations so it had to be taken.

A bit later than I would like but can't be helped. Not much to be had in the Prem today I reckon but the QPR v Chelsea should be a good firey affair.

Another loss in that round but I'm not going to start crying this early, onwards through the jungle we go again.

Round 3
Tue 18-09-2012

1pt. Montpellier v Arsenal- Arsenal @ 2.25 PP --1-2 :win:

1pt. Stevenage v Walsall - BTTS @ 1.95 SJ--3-1 :win:

EDIT: I made an error in posting the price of the Arsenal game. I had checked the Asian markets and posted that price instead of the higher 'match winner' market price of 2.25 which I actually took.

A better run out last time and hopefully more of the same this weekend. I have placed in the blog's first 3 pointer and it invloves the All Ireland final between our lads Donegal against those Mayo lads. This is by far the most important event in Gaelic football and it's been twenty years since we last won it or even got to the final but I do think it is a good bet as we have beaten top sides all the way through and we have the best defence coupled with aggresive overlapping attacks and the stamina to go the whole nine yards. Every team we played lost the legs around the 50 odd minute keeping up with us. There is no doubt it will be a very hard fought game and Mayo are no mugs but I feel we just have the edge in all departments this year.

It's an amatuer game but you couldn't get tickets if you tried and Croke Park holds just over 80,000!! If anyone is not overly familiar with the game then check it out on Sun @ 3:30, no over paid wimmin' here!!

Round 4
Sat/Sun 22/23-09-2012

1pt. Southampton v Villa - Over 2.5 @ 1.91 SJ --4-1 :win:

1pt. Port Vale v Gillingham - Over 2.5 @ 1.80 b365--0-2 :lose:

3pt. Donegal v Mayo - Donegal @ 1.53 Lads--2-11 - 0-13 :win:

Stupid Port Vale and their uselessness tried to ruin my buzz but Donegal washed away any negative vibes with a virtuoso display to bring Sam back to the hills and so I will forgive Port Vale on this occasion!!

Some quality matches this week and the first one is the early KO so happy days as it should be an interesting game to watch. The other game is at 3 while the Man U v Spurs is the late one so I have the whole day covered, can't ask any more than that.

A good day at the office yesterday, it kept me entertained all day anyway. Stats and the like to follow shortly once I shake this friggin' hangover!! Why do I always think double whiskies are a great idea, time fer a kebab and a whack of coffee and I'll be right as rain for shouting at the golf later!!

I finally got around to this, thats the thing with things, they are always things of some kind, i.e. a thing you have to do, a thing you have done or the thing from that film called some-thing or other.
