French Open Tipping Competition £200 to be Won !!

Postby PompeyJim » Mon May 09, 2016 4:23 pm

The French Open starts on Monday 16th May and concludes with the Men’s Final on Sunday 5th June.

OLBG are offering members a chance to win a share of £200 in our FREE and easy to enter French Open Tipping Competition.

Entry:
You do not have to enter this competition separately. If you are a member of OLBG then you just need to add Tennis tips (with comments) in the usual tipping competition.

Prizes £50, £25 x2, £10 x10.
The prize structure is £50 to the tipster with the highest level stakes profit, £25 to second and third and then £10 for members placed 4th-13th. The fund is in addition to the normal monthly prizes which you can still win based on the criteria for the monthly Tennis competition.

LSP?
This means Level Stakes Profit. So it doesn't matter if you select a stake of 50 or 500 for these tips. If you place a win tip on a 5/1 winner, you will then have a LSP of + 5 points. If you then have three losing win tips, you lose 1 point per losing tip and your level stakes profit will be down to + 2 points.

LSP>0
Members must finish with a positive level stakes profit to qualify as we don’t pay prizes for negative LSP’s !

Tips 5 or more.
A minimum of 5 tips must be placed on the French Open to qualify, any members placing less than 5 tips over the duration of the tournament will NOT qualify even if finishing the competition with a positive level stakes profit.

Markets Available
All of the markets available to tip on for the French Open will count towards this competition as long as they fall within the actual dates of the event (16th May – 5th June 2016).

Ante-Post tips: Please note that only tips placed in the duration of the event will count towards the prizes. Ante-post tips placed prior to the 16th May will NOT COUNT.

Tipping Table

The competition tipping table will be updated as each market is settled.

Tipping Comments

Winning tips without tip comments are excluded (all losing tips are included). You must add good comment reasoning as to why you are tipping each player when the tip is placed.

Poor comments or short comments on winning tips won’t count. We just need a few good reasons as to why you are choosing the selection. The minimum requirement is at least 20 words explaining why you think your tip is a good bet for our site and app users to follow.

Also no copy and pasting of comments - you will need different comments for each tip! If the comments are not deemed of a good enough standard then those comments will be voided and the tipster will not win a prize.

Comments will be checked and verified when the tournament has finished. If tipsters can make sure that their comments adhere to the rules, are clear, and written and punctuated well as they are displayed on the OLBG website and mobile app. Lots of visitors are now following the advice, so let’s show them the quality on offer !!

Can the Men's current World Number 1 Novak Djokovic win the title for the first time ?

Novak has been a beaten finalist in three out of the last four years, losing twice to Nadal and also to current champion Stan Wawrinka last year.

Rafa Nadal won the title 9 times between 2005 and 2014, the exception being 2009 when Roger Federer won it for the only time.

Ladies current Number 1 Serena Williams has won the title 3 times in 2002, 2013 and 2015.

Maria Sharapova has also won it twice in recent years 2012 and 2014 but is currently serving a suspension.

If Serena does not make it title number 4 , who will win it ?

Excellent news.

I\'d suggest entrants doing match tips take careful note of the OLBG start time for the match rather than the evolving actual start time.

Otherwise you\'ll finish your wonderful comments and, when you press CONFIRM, you\'ll get a TOO LATE message. In my experience this only ever happens to winning tips !!

With today being a total washout at Roland Garros, no points being won or lost and no trainer heels being whacked by racquets it's a good time to update the current standings after week 1.

Leading the way is botev1921 with a current LSP of 30.8 after 12 tips capitalising on the demise of Cilic against Trungelitti.

Schneedler25 and rustie sit second and third with all to play for in the final week.

32 members have placed the minimum 5 tips and are currently showing a positive LSP.

The prize positions at present look like this -

1. botev1921 30.8
2. schneedler25 12.6
3. rustie 10.9
4. TheValueOfTheDraw 9.5
5. MSPG2013 9.0
6. Stefancina91 8.9
7. lonelyboy 6.7
8. Betfairalfie 5.7
9. STEVEOCN 5.4
10. sharis 5.3
11. AdoBab 5.2
12. Imaginarium 4.6
13. Grobler 3.6

Progress and daily updated positions can be checked via the link below.

So although not too many shock results in week 1, the withdrawal of Nadal has opened up the Men's draw slightly but that aside there are going to be some interesting match up's this week and still all to play.

Week one saw some really great tipping and informative content for our site and app users.

Thanks to all members participating and good luck for the final week.
