Re: US Horseracing discussion

I'm flabergasted to see that it appears bet365 do not offer live odds for Arlington in their feed despite the races being shown live on ATR and RUK. It may well be then that we can't tip on these world class Grade 1 races but we will be able t...

Re: US Horseracing discussion

I've had quite a good look at the Arlington Million and these are the two I think it will concern. Not very exciting as they are 1st and 2nd favourite but preference for Oscar Performance: Oscar Performance Oscar Performance showed his well-being for this race when breaking the one-mile track record...

Re: Galway Festival Pointers, Trends and Discussion

A poor day for Dermot Weld yesterday with just one horse placed out of 4 runners, all of whom were 11/2 or shorter. Aidan O'Brien had just the one runner, a 15/8 favourite that finished out of the frame. Two winners for Willie Mullins at 5/4 and 12/1. The latter was the most unfancied of his runners...

Re: Steve Palmer in the Racing Post

Thanks for the replies so far. To win the sort of money Palmer was suggesting he stood to win he would have had to have had something like 10k on Woods. Obviously it is up to the individual what sort of stake they put on but, you would hope, Palmer would be sticking to some sort of staking plan whic...

Galway Festival Pointers, Trends and Discussion

It's not easy to find much in the way of stats for the Galway Festival so I've put together a table in the blogs section with some of the top trainers and their ten year record: https://www.olbg.com/blogs/post.php?id=414082 How can we use this info to our advantage? Galway? Easy, just back Dermot We...

Steve Palmer in the Racing Post

I'd be very interested to hear our members views on Steve Palmer in the Racing Post. Obviously, the guy is a very good golf tipster, but I find his do or die style of gambling way out of line with how the rest of society is guided to approach betting. It is the law now for gambling companies to high...

Re: Welcome Grand National Guide Bloggers

I think the staff and, just as importantly, the OLBG members have been very welcoming but it doesn't come across as if you all want to be incorporated into the overall OLBG membership and just want to set up threads for yourselves. I'm afraid that isn't going to work in the longterm. I appreciate th...

Re: Newmarket July Festival Trends, Tips & Discussion (12th-14th July)

Nothing on the Kevin Ryan angle today but a couple of James Doyle ridden two-year-olds and a Richard Fahey handicapper: 1.05 Blown By The WInd (currently 8/1) 2.50 New Jazz (currently 17/2) 3.20 Clubbable (currently 12/1) I'll be trying the above all each-way but whatever happens there has been a ni...
