Re: 2018 Aintree Grand National

Wonder if any of you knowledgeable people on here could answer me a question on breeding, and please excuse my ignorance . Lots of people are saying that Chase The Spud needs soft or heavy ground because that's what all of his form has come on. But if Wayward Prince who won the Scottish National on...

Re: 2018 Aintree Grand National

Narrowing The Field The basic trends I use: Age 8-11 Won over at least 26f or placed over at least 27f Won or placed that season Now we all know trends and stats are broken every year but these have been pretty solid over the last 10 years, age 10/10, stamina 9/10 & the form stat is a 9/10. Basicall...

MAJOR MUSCARI

Only went down by a neck last time out at Kempton behind Baltic Prince. Has been super consistent over the winter on the AW. He's a winner over today's trip and went very close over C&D last May behind Fathom Five.

WESTERN BOY If he can cut out the silly mistakes and with a drop in trip, I’m sure he could go close. A fine run LTO when finishing 3rd, just over 7 lengths behind the useful Felix Younger, and that came after making a bad mistake at the 8th. The run before he finished 2nd at Clonmel to Ttebbob, w...

Unlike the English National winners who meet certain criteria regarding class, stamina and experience. The Irish National seems to throw up winners who are inexperienced with a 6yr old & 3 7yr olds winning in the last 10 years. Winners who are unexposed over these sort of trips, only winning over 2m...

BRIGHT ABBEY Dianne Sayer's chestnut gelding has been running over hurdles of late without success. His last flat run was in this race last year when finishing 2nd, by a short head behind Pass Muster. That came off a mark of 73, runs off 76 today with 5lb claimer Emma Sayer on board, who rode him to...

NET WORK ROUGE Kim Bailey's gelding has been in good form without getting his head in front, but he's getting closer with each run. Ran very well in December finishing 3rd to As De Mee, who went onto win a class 1 at Sandown. Nicky Henderson's useful Theinval was 11 lengths behind Net Work Rouge in ...

GLEN MOSS

Finished 4th LTO, 2 ½ lengths behind the winner Sovereign Debt and only finished a length behind Chookie Royale in 2nd, who is 5/1 2nd favourite with Glen Moss 25/1. He was beaten by a head the run before by Rivellino, both runs he ran on inside the final furlong.
