Re: One A Day AUGUST Race 2 (16th to 31st)

ETIENNE GERARD bottom of the weights and even three pounds out of the handicap, which normally I will look away from but with his jockey Robert Dodsworth claiming seven pounds he is racing off a good low weight of 7-9 and not really out of the handicap. He is racing off a mark of 51 which is a lot ...

Re: One A Day AUGUST Race 1 (1st to 15th)

3.50 Newton Abbot KUBLAI Right at the bottom of the weights, well nearly with 10-2 on his back. He has been dropped considerably by the handicapper with weight as he is now racing off an all time low rating of 81 as he achieved success off 115 and 112. Alexandra Dunne could have his eight year old a...

Re: One A Day AUGUST Race 1 (1st to 15th)

I just read the Thirsk 7.20 so left the race until later, did not realise another meeting had been placed in, should read all and not the main line. :D

Re: One A Day AUGUST Race 1 (1st to 15th)

DUTCH COED Nigel Tinkler had a rich vein of form with winners appearing around a month ago and now his stable runners are striking once more and this six year old could be providing another solid run for the stable. This is an apprentice race and I like top weights here and this one is two pounds lo...

Re: Horse Racing Discussion Thread: Monday 6th August - Sunday 12th August

Wonder if we see a big run appearing from GORDON LORD BYRON who could be within a chance of showing his old form here, even though the favourite looks hot but Spirit Of Valor was behind the old boy at Newmarket with Brando winning the race, could surprise.

Re: One A Day AUGUST Race 1 (1st to 15th)

MAKIN IT This filly is in a field of runners that are suspect of showing potential winning form and the race of class six nature is a poor one and question marks over staying ability with all ad including my selection. What caught my eye about this entry from William Knight yard who has sent this o...

Re: Horse Racing Discussion Thread: Monday 6th August - Sunday 12th August

Really cannot understand hold up jockeys allowing one jockey espicailly Kingscote who is good at pace making a lengthy lead, surely they can smell danger and need to make a move earlier. We saw a race at Ascot where two went clear and the rest of the field was not at the course, matter of fact they ...

Re: Horse Racing Discussion Thread: Monday 6th August - Sunday 12th August

BROROCCO could be up for this with Andrew Balding team in good form with winners at Ascot and being a Saturday the favourite could be vulnerable and this one can give the weight away and show his last run a second was no fluke

Re: One A Day AUGUST Race 1 (1st to 15th)

MARKAZI The race has been broken up so to speak with non runners and this David O'Meara four year old can be a progressive runner here. The form is from France and hopefully this Dark Angel can acclimatise this country and his new surroundings to give connections a first run and make the 140,000 eu...

Re: One A Day AUGUST Race 1 (1st to 15th)

HAYDOCK 3.40 KODICAT She has had seventeen races in total and for a four year old, she does not look over raced and could be progressive enough to give a good account here. The good to firm ground should hold no fear as she has won on this surface at Catterick off a mark of 65, she is two pounds low...

Re: Horse Racing Discussion Thread: Monday 6th August - Sunday 12th August

My selection of interest for today is once again in the lucky last at Pontefract 5.25 bottom weighted ROUND THE ISLAND This one has two course and distance winners to his name and the last came on the same surface he is meeting today. His last race at York when finishing in sixth place was not a bad...
