Be Lucky People

I am sorry that I seem to have offended some people on this forum. I was only trying to express my honest opinions on aspects of racing. I never linger anywhere that my presence causes offence, so as the Two Ronnies sort of used to say, It's Goodbye from me and it's Goodbye from me. Feel free to don...

Re: Horse Racing Discussion - Monday 20th February

Leicester Bigot like you, I can never catch Robot Boy and with your selection ran well as expected with him having a higher mark, he used a lot of speed to move over from high draw and this could of been his undoing for a place, as I did your selection <a href='/school/bet_types.php' target="_blank...

Re: Champion Hurdle - Tuesday 14th March 2017 (Day 1)

I don't think Moon Racer will run in this race. No Cheltenham Bumper winner has ever won the Champion Hurdle. The horse has not run this year. The Pipe team had a winner on Friday and one on Saturday but they have also had several pulled up and beaten miles in the past week, so it's jumping the gun ...

Re: Supreme Novices Hurdle 2017

Surely a Neptune horse....well target anyway? Colin Tizzard is having problems pulling the trigger on Finian's Oscar's target. He talked earlier about perhaps going Supreme if it is soft enough ground. He stated going into the Exeter race that it might help them decide where he went but that level ...

Re: Horse Racing Discussion - Monday 20th February

That is why racing is so frustrating at times. I had spent ages watching Jordan Sport 's previous two runs and made the decision that he had the early pace to overcome his bad draw. Sure enough, he pinged and came across easily enough to take the lead at the first bend. Everything went swimmingly we...

Re: Grand National 2017 Entries

I just backed Vieux Lion Rouge, One For Arthur & The Last Samuri based on three simple stats. :D Very wise move. Those are my three picks  Vieux Lion Rouge was well backed yesterday. There was some 16/1 around but the best price is now 12/1. The Racing Post raised Vieux Lion Rouge by 7 lbs fo...

Re: Horse Racing Discussion - Monday 20th February

There is a decent class 2 Sprint at Wolverhampton and it's unusual to see horses rated over 100 competing on the all-weather on an anonymous Monday. The 3.45 Race is over 5F and it's unusual for me, in that my selection has not won at the trip before. The reason for selecting him though, is that he ...

Re: The Lincoln Handicap 2017

Derbz87, you can set your watch that my picks will get the worst of the draw. I've got the knack. I might lay Morando back if he gets short enough nearer the time and has a draw that casts doubts. I did read last year that Morando was considered a Group class prospect long term and when he won at Ay...

Re: The Lincoln Handicap 2017

The weight trends for the Lincoln are getting more meaningless every year in my opinion. It matters little when 22 runners are covered by just 7lbs. Almost every runner is going to be near the deemed optimum weight. Looking back at last year's Lincoln, 12 horses carried between 9-04 and 9-06. That's...

Re: Supreme Novices Hurdle 2017

Finian's Oscar IS rated over 140. His official handicap mark is 149.

It's folly to dismiss this horse. Nothing has managed to give him a proper race yet.

Re: Grand National 2017 Entries

I had VLR in the Becher and he's a better horse this season ( settling more during his races ) - i have doubts about his stamina and would fancy Blaklion to reverse the form on better terms on Spring ground and with a better jockey than Willie Twiston-Davies in the saddle. Also, as i posted in my b...

The Lincoln Handicap 2017

With minds focused mainly on Cheltenham for many racing fans it seems unlikely that many have considered that annual minefield that helps kick off the turf season, ie The Lincoln Handicap. It's always been a tough race for me and I had an awful record in it for a long while. These days it is a very ...
