Re: Horse Racing Discussion & Information for the Week Mon 11/12/17 to Sun 17/12/17

Hi meoldmate , You have certainly raised some interesting topics for discussion. I very rarely place ante post bets, as I dislike getting no run for my money, so will only do so when Non runner no bet is offered at which time I will generally take the concession even if the odds are shorter than tho...

Re: 2017/18 Meydan Racing season - discussion & selections

Well done Tommy.

ACTIVE SPIRIT was a welcome winner, although the result surprised me in 2 ways, namely the winning distance of 7 lengths, as on paper the race looked pretty competitive and his SP of 7/1, as I had expected around 5/1.

All the best.

Rob.

Re: 2017/18 Meydan Racing season - discussion & selections

Hi Tommy, Like you I am not over impressed with the racing at Meydan today, but I also like the look of ACTIVE SPIRIT in the lucky last. His form over this course and distance reads 2-1 and he clearly needed his seasonal debut over a mile when finishing 6th at the opening meeting 4 weeks ago. Odds o...

Re: Aintree - Saturday 9th December

Excellent write up for the Grand Sefton meoldmate The 2 entries that catch my eye at this stage are: CLARCAM: who has a touch of class on his day and is in far better form than when finishing 16th (beaten 42 lengths) in the Topham over course and distance in April, having won a Grade 2 Chase at Nava...

Re: Is the writing on the wall for OLBG....???

There was me saying that I wasn’t going to be as active on the forum and the very next day I am responding to a couple of points raised by DAVIDADAN . Bearing in mind that there were a number of recent occasions when the daily horse racing thread was not initiated, plus others where there were less ...

Re: Is the writing on the wall for OLBG....???

Thanks for your kind comment titans choice, but it is a sign of the times.

I will continue to post update blogs in respect of the VALUE CALCULATOR and perhaps a few one offs on other topics, but I doubt that I will write the trends based articles for the big races in future.

All he best.

Re: Is the writing on the wall for OLBG....???

The overriding incentive for members to get involved appears to be the chance to win money, which I guess is no surprise as the site is geared to betting. It is a shame that fewer members are prepared to share their thoughts for free on the discussion forum and the current position regarding payment...

Hi Folks, Excellent trends and analysis for the Ladbrokes Trophy Chase. I have moved on from posting trends blogs and now rely on the VALUE CALCULATOR to assess races and identify my sel...

Re: Horse Racing Discussion for Week Mon 27/11/17 -to Sun 3/12/17

Hi Shrews , Interesting results in respect of age, which I believe offer some useful general pointers. However, I would suggest that there are a number of factors which also need to be taken into account, including: Race Distance I read somewhere (sorry, can’t remember the data source) that the prim...

Re: Horse Racing Discussion for Week Mon 27/11/17 -to Sun 3/12/17

Hi Gman, Good idea and I will try to find time to post my thoughts when appropriate. As for today, the classiest race is our ‘own’ Listed OLBG Mares’ Hurdle for which there is a separate thread, which is worth checking out. https://www.olbg.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=66249 I have posted my select...

Re: 2017/18 Meydan Racing season - discussion & selections

Shame SPEEDY MOVE could only finish fourth and thus just failed to reward Each Way support, also interesting that only 2 winners today had run at the previous meeting and one of those Moosir had finished well behind on his seasonal debut, so didnt endure a hard race.
