Re: One-A-Day Competition - MAY - Race 2 (16th - 31st)

Royal Village showed some good novice form but flopped on handicap debut last July when favourite. Has been off since then and has switched to Ian Williams yard and he’s one of the best around at re-fining form for horses. That last flop was also on soft ground so will appreciate the better ground ...

Let’s have a bit of jumps action:

Re: One-A-Day Competition - MAY - Race 2 (16th - 31st)

Chagatai has showed some promise as a 2yo including a win in debut on firm ground at Bath. Debut this season was disappointing as was far too keen so they stick the hood on now and hopefully that can help the horse stay calmer in the early stages and if that happens I think it has a live chance. Cl...

Re: Horse Racing Discussion Weekly Thread - Mon 14th - Sun 20th

Not being a very successful York meeting for myself so far and just one bet today but whilst I have a tonne of respect for Johnny G and Stradivarius I think at over 10 times the price I’d rather back Count Octave Each Way with the magic 8 runners. Was only a neck sho...

Re: One-A-Day Competition - MAY - Race 2 (16th - 31st)

Berkshire Spirit has stepped in trip the past 2 runs on the AW and has improved for it. Likes to race prominently and was just nabbed close to home last time out. Seems to be improving for the experience and the Andrew Balding horses might just be coming to form with some good runs yesterday. Shoul...

Re: Horse Racing Discussion Weekly Thread - Mon 14th - Sun 20th

Hoping for a bit better today, not much luck yesterday apart from a couple of free bets back because of offers. In the opener I do like Vinnie Poyle but it's a tough race. He's 16lb lower than when 3rd in this last year and comes here in good form. I think Gracious John could run well at a price. Co...

Re: One-A-Day Competition - MAY - Race 2 (16th - 31st)

Poyle Vinnie was 3rd in this race last year but is now 16lb lower but has been rediscovering form lately with a good AW run followed by two solid turf runs so is fit and primed for this. Has been rated in the low 100's in the past and goes today off a mark of 89 so looks well handicapped. Distance,...

We went the gallops on the same tour, was a great experience. Really have to get back to Newmarket in the near future.

Re: Horse Racing Discussion Weekly Thread - Mon 14th - Sun 20th

Highgarden seems to be a popular pick amongst pundits and around sociual media. In the 3:30, with 2 none runners, Harry Angel has become extremely short in the market...no surprise there given how well the 4yo colt is regarded but with <a target=...

Re: One-A-Day Competition - MAY - Race 2 (16th - 31st)

Race one results are now up and complete (bar any objections). Well done to the winners. On to todays race: Golden Apollo had a real purple patch of form last June including a win at this track and now is up to 98 in the handicap but the horse managed to win off 95 last August at Ascot and clearly l...
