We'll try and highlight some summer jumping specialists in this section of the blog, there was plenty to like about our team last year unfortunately David Pipe took all the profits the others had made and them some. No surprise to see Pipe omitted, we have three survivors and three new team members this August.

NH GB

PHILLIP HOBBS (ALL)

Back from last year where he gave us a small profit.
  • 2013 4/19 21% +£ 9.11
  • 2014 1/10 10% (£ 8.70)
  • 2015 3/10 30% +£ 0.88
  • 2016 5/15 33% +£11.25
  • 2017 2/11 18% (£0.00)
  • I expected a little more from him last year but profit is profit so we'll stick with him.

    NEIL MULHOLLAND (ALL)

The star of the show last year with +£9.00 LSP. He had 7 winners from his 30 runners and an amazing 11 seconds, he only needs to convert a couple of those and his profits will mount up.
  • 2013 8/18 44% +£19.13
  • 2014 2/7 29% +£ 1.25
  • 2015 3/21 14% (£ 5.50)
  • 2016 6/30 20% +£ 2.31
  • 2017 7/30 23% (£0.70)
  • Plenty of BOG gains even though the SP figures showed a slight loss.

    DONALD McCAIN (ALL)

A trainer who went back up to 10th on the trainers list last year after a couple of years further down the list, has a nice set of August figures.
  • 2014 4/29 14% (£11.50)
  • 2015 3/22 14% (£4.25)
  • 2016 6/27 22% +£21.88
  • 2017 13/29 45% +£55.14
  • Remarkable figures last year and really good in 2016, comes into the month with 7 winners from his last 14 runners.

    CHARLIE MANN (ALL)

Upper Lambourn trainer who often finds his way into the blog with his Chasers, all his horses this month.
  • 2014 2/6 33% +£8.75
  • 2015 0/4 0% (£4.00)
  • 2016 3/3 100% +£9.10
  • 2017 1/2 50% +£10.00
  • I would like to see more runners and there is a chance of that as he's had more runners in July than normal.

    BEN CASE (ALL)

Northants trainer with similar figures to Mann, has good figures at Doncaster but with no summer jumps meetings there we'll be looking at the likes of Taunton and Fakenham for winners.
  • 2014 1/3 33% +£5.00
  • 2015 0/5 0% (£5.00)
  • 2016 2/5 40% +£9.00
  • 2017 1/2 50% +£5.00
  • Won't keep us too busy but should be a decent addition.

    PHILLIP KIRBY (ALL)

Back for a third consecutive August, gave a small profit last year.
  • 2013 4/7 57% +£ 7.05
  • 2014 2/6 33% +£ 7.63
  • 2015 2/7 29% +£30.00
  • 2016 2/6 33% +£ 2.75
  • 2017 1/7 14% (£1.50)
  • Shrewd north Yorks trainer, probably another gamble he won with last year as there's a 4.5 point difference between SP an EP figures. It's not going to be too busy this August where the jumpers are concerned but it looks a solid bunch, as always any comments, observations of questions leave below.
