A big month ahead with the Derby, Oaks and Royal Ascot just around the corner. After a fantastic May we sit around +£130 LSP for the year and June last year was as good as it gets with almost +£130 LSP. As you can imagine plenty return from last month, in total we have 10 GB Flat turf trainers, so plenty to go at.

Flat Turf GB

AIDEN O'BRIEN (ALL GB)

Back from last year where most of his profit came from the Derby winner that we backed at 45/1, expect plenty of multi runner races but don't be put off by that, aside from the two big priced winners he also had 7 double figure priced placed horses.
  • 2012 5/29 17% +£18.14
  • 2013 6/33 18% +£13.55
  • 2014 3/32 9% (£16.72)
  • 2015 6/24 25% +£62.03
  • 2016 8/35 23% +£35.05
  • 2017 7/48 17% +£25.65
  • Our own figures using BOG were almost 10 points higher and that was the second year running he's gave massive profits. One not to be missed.

    DAVID SIMCOCK (ALL)

Another back from last year, I was thinking of leaving out his 2yo's as he was 0/4 last year but prior to that he was 3/4 so we'll not get too clever, he showed a healthy +£16 even with those four 2yo losers.
  • 2013 13/63 21% +£15.75
  • 2014 10/56 18% (£ 4.77)
  • 2015 8/33 24% (£ 2.30)
  • 2016 14/41 34% +£13.45
  • 2017 9/55 16% +£1.08
  • Our BOG figures were +£15 points higher and he goes into the month on the back of an 8/1 winner this afternoon.

    CHARLIE HILLS (3yo's)

Next up the real star of the show last year with almost +£60 LSP, this Lambourn trainer had eleven 3yo winners and non were priced less than 9/2.
  • 2013 7/43 16% +£ 0.07
  • 2014 5/31 16% +£13.50
  • 2015 5/34 15% +£13.75
  • 2016 8/38 21% (£ 5.49)
  • 2017 11/40 28% +£44.00
  • We have to hope he has a new crop of 3yo's coming through, the sign are good with a 16/1 3yo winner on the 28th.

    DEAN IVORY (ALL)

Another back from last year, I was tempted to tinker again as last year most of his winners were 4yo+ but you don't have to go back too far to find all his horse doing well so I'm sticking with them all.
  • 2013 1/16 6% (£12.25)
  • 2014 2/23 9% (£ 8.50)
  • 2015 4/17 24% +£48.88
  • 2016 7/31 23% +£41.75
  • 2017 5/36 14% +£12.50
  • Not quiet as good last year but our own figures were almost double with four of his five winners backed at double figure prices.

    RUTH CARR (4yo+)

North Yorkshire trainer, back in the blog for the third year, gave us an +£8.00 LSP last year so we'll go again.
  • 2013 7/61 11% (£10.25)
  • 2014 11/51 22% +£42.83
  • 2015 11/52 21% +£48.75
  • 2016 8/59 14% +£ 7.00
  • 2017 9/63 14% +£ 4.50
  • Obviously the strike rate indicates a little risk involved here but she does go in with some big ones from time to time and we have negated some of the risk by going with just the older horses, last year she was 0/7 with the youngsters.

    MARK JOHNSTON (2yo's)

We're concentrating on the juveniles for our next two trainers, both are blog regs but usually will all their horses, first up Middleham's finest.
  • 2013 5/50 10% (£29.42)
  • 2014 12/35 34% +£35.29
  • 2015 16/65 25% (£ 9.29)
  • 2016 17/61 28% +£ 6.45
  • 2017 13/57 23% +£ 14.78
  • Fantastic strike rate and the amount of winners mean we would have most likely made a profit in 2015 and the profit was nearer +£20 in 2016 and 2017 with the BOG extras. He has had a great May with his 2yo's, lets hope he hasn't got them going too early.

    CHARLIE APPLEBY (2yo's)

Encke winner of St Leger 2012Appleby, or as one of my regular customers calls him Appleyard!! is in the blog regularly, this month 2yo's.
  • 2014 5/24 21% (£12.57)
  • 2015 3/19 16% +£11.50
  • 2016 4/10 40% +£ 1.40
  • 2017 3/14 21% +£ 7.63
  • Last year he had 5 seconds and two thirds and whilst at +£11.00 with BOG gains not quite as good as Johnston he should still prove a useful addition.

    MALCOLM SAUNDERS (3yo+)

Somerset trainer, another back from last year, specialises in sprint handicaps. He'll be seen to best effect at Bath and Brighton.
  • 2013 4/15 27% +£ 8.38
  • 2014 2/15 13% (£ 4.25)
  • 2015 3/22 14% +£10.00
  • 2016 5/12 42% +£21.25
  • 2017 5/16 31% +£ 4.95
  • He's 0/16 with his 2yo's over the above period so I think we'll give them a miss. Two winners from his last three runners at 3's and 20's bodes well.

    JAMES FANSHAWE (3yo+)

The last returnee from last year but this guy gave a small loss, I'm including because he had seconds at 80's (sh hd) and 25's, it's got to be worth the risk.
  • 2014 6/31 19% +£23.75
  • 2015 3/26 12% +£12.50
  • 2016 7/23 30% +£17.50
  • 2017 3/25 12% (£4.50)
  • Stats prior to last year were fairly solid, it will be the end if he fails again this year though.

    JEDD O'KEEFFE (ALL)

The only trainer that wasn't in the blog last year, for that matter I don't think he's ever appeared in a blog. North Yorkshire again so plenty of interest up north this month.
  • 2014 0/9 0% (£9.00)
  • 2015 3/18 17% +£1.13
  • 2016 6/21 29% +£12.75
  • 2017 6/24 25% +£ 9.00
  • Cracking stuff in the last two years and looks the type of trainer that gambles his horses so should pay to get on early.I'll put the overall results below. There will be an AW, NH and Irish blog so keep your eyes peeled, the AW might be up later tomorrow as we have no AW until Saturday. As always any questions, comments or observations leave in the comments section.
