FORMAT & DRAW

First Round - Best of 19 legs
Second Round - Best of 25 legs
Quarter-Finals - Best of 31 legs
Semi-Finals - Best of 33 legs
Final - Best of 35 legs
Each game must be won by two clear legs, with up to a maximum of five extra legs being played (Should the score be level with 1 leg remaining) before the final sixth leg being sudden-death.
For example, should a First Round game (best of 19 legs) reach 12-12, then the 25th leg would be the final and deciding leg
Now let's have a look at the First Round Draw and my prediction for each match with odds from Sponsors BetVictor
Michael van Gerwen v Benito van de Pas These 2 have met 3 times before and Van Gerwen leads 2-1, they played twice in 2014 and both players won a match each
Verdict - Under 15.5 Legs @ 4/6 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Justin Pipe v Jamie Lewis These 2 have met 4 times before and Justin leads the score 3-1, Jamie has only won 1 leg in their last 2 meetings, which were both in 2014
Verdict - Under 16.5 Legs @ 5/6 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Simon Whitlock v Jelle Klaasen Simon has won 6 of their 8 meetings in total, including a 10-8 win here in the first round back in 2013
Verdict - Over 16.5 Legs @ 4/6 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ian White v Stephen Bunting These guys have met 3 times before and Stephen has won them all, although their last 2 meetings were pretty close
Verdict - Stephen Bunting to win @ 8/13 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Peter Wright v Kim Huybrechts These 2 have met 14 times before and Peter leads 8-6, he has also won 7 of the last 8 meetings
Verdict - Peter Wright -2.5 Legs @ 6/5 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mervyn King v Andrew Gilding These 2 have only met 2 times before, Mervyn won both of those meetings, both in 2014
Verdict - Mervyn King -2.5 Legs @ 5/4 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Adrian Lewis v Joe Murnan Their only meeting was way back in 2013 when Adrian won 6-2 in a UK Open Qualifier
Verdict - Under 14.5 Legs @ 11/10 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Michael Smith v Gerwyn Price These 2 have met 3 times before and Michael leads the head to head 2-1, all 3 meetings were in 2014 but Gerwyn won their last meeting
Verdict - Over 16.5 Legs @ Evs ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Phil Taylor v John Henderson We have to go all the way back to 2011 to see the only time these 2 have met before, Phil won that match 6-2
Verdict - Under 14.5 Legs @ 5/6 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Raymond van Barneveld v Andy Hamilton Raymond has a great record against Andy, winning 20 of their 23 meetings, although they are level at 2-2 in their last 4 meetings
Verdict - Over 15.5 legs @ 8/11 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dave Chisnall v Jamie Caven Despite the huge difference in World Rankings, Jamie has won 7 of their 11 meetings but Dave has had a good year so far
Verdict - Under 16.5 Legs @ 4/5 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Robert Thornton v Keegan Brown Robert leads their head to head 2-1, they both won a match each in 2014 and both matches went the distance, this could be close
Verdict - Over 16.5 Legs @ 4/6 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
James Wade v Kyle Anderson These 2 met twice in 2014 and Kyle won both meetings, both in Players Championship matches
Verdict - Over 15.5 Legs @ 8/13 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Brendan Dolan v Vincent van der Voort Vincent leads 5-4 in their head to head meetings but they have only met once since November 2013
Verdict - Vincent van der Voort @ Evs ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Gary Anderson v Steve Beaton Gary has won 8 of their 13 meetings in total, although Steve did win their last meeting in June 2014
Verdict - Gary Anderson -4.5 Legs @ 8/11 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Verdict - Under 16.5 Legs @ 4/5 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dave Chisnall/Jamie Caven V Robert Thornton/Keegan Brown
James Wade/Kyle Anderson V Brendan Dolan/Vincent van der Voort
Gary Anderson/Steve Beaton V Terry Jenkins/Mensur Suljovic

OUTRIGHT BETTING

15 times winner Phil Taylor is currently the 7/2 second favourite to win the event
Michael Van Gerwen is the bookies favourite at 2/1
With Each Way betting at 1/2 odds for a place in the final, i am thinking of backing 1 player from each side of the draw.
Peter Wright is seeded to meet Aidrian Lewis in the quarter finals and Peter has won 3 of the last 4 meetings (The other was a draw), so i would fancy him to win this match.
He would then meet Michael Van Gerwen in the semi finals, and although he doesn't have the best record against Van Gerwen, he could still cause an upset
Gary Anderson is seeded to meet Phil Taylor in the semi finals, and Taylor could have a tough game against Dave Chisnall in the quarter finals.
Phil beat Gary 17-15 in last years semi final but Gary won the World Title, beating Phil in the final and could beat him again here
Gary Anderson - EW @ 6/1 Peter Wright - EW @ 33/1
