On a regular day there will be plenty of one trick jockeys (see below for today's selections) so i have to be selective. One criteria i use is the distance travelled, local trainers to the track and those who have travelled a long way are generally favoured.... more

The Betfred Eider Chase is the biggest chase run at Newcastle racecourse during the National Hunt season, it's over slightly further than 4 miles and i have looked at the last 10 runnings, i have to go back to 2004 as the race was not run in 2005, 2010 & 2013.
