Olly Murphy has got plenty of good chances today at Carlisle and he could win the closing race with the improving Woodland Park. He is improving with each run and could be well handicapped.

Dunnet Head makes his debut for the powerful Scottish Russell/Scudamore yard. The 7yo won this two years ago when trained by Iain Jardine and was narrowly beaten at this meeting last season over 2m4f. I think it's fair to say he'll be tuned up for this.

Won over this course and distance last spring and ran very well in defeat at Hexham last month after a 5-month break. Can improve again here.

Disappointed last year after winning so impressively on her reappearance run. Worth an each-way chance on her first run of the season, and money seems to be down for her.

Great price to play with as Ip Up has the potential of being a strong player here coming from Jedd O'Keeffe stable and with jockey Conor O'Farrell, in the saddle. She ran with distinction last season with placed efforts appearing off higher marks than the 113 she has today. The seven year old, sired by Secret Singer can be worthy of interest in this hurdle race.

Unexposed 5-year-old, win or placed in five of six hurdle runs. He can return stronger today for his handicap debut after 10 months off the track. He won a novice hurdle when last seen. The 3rd was a useful 100+ rated flat runner, and the 2nd did have a 133 rating last winter. The selection, with an opening handicap mark of 118, has a chance and looks underestimated.

This 5yo has a new trainer, a first time tongue tie and a new jockey here. For me, the penultimate start which was a win in a maiden is the key piece of form, since I'd argue that there are several horses which he beat that would suggest he is on a winnable mark here. I suspect a combination of the ground being too lively and the trip being too far were the cause of a below par effort last time out and I'm happy to go with the form of that maiden win and trust that he is well handicapped now that he has his conditions.

Joshua Des Flos had some good bits of form when trained in Ireland and was sent over to Ayr where he won his maiden hurdle, as well as two other placed efforts. Had one run for the Menzies yard last year over fences but unseated after struggling with the bigger obstacles. Been off the track for just over a year, now with Sam England and runs in first-time tongue tie. Should be better suited now back over hurdles and if tuned up, could go close.
