Promising looking sort who seems to go well fresh having won first time out on first run for the stable back in March on the same going as today. Trainer form is good and he does well at the course. Most boxes ticked.

A nice horse over hurdles but could be even better over the fences. Made a winning debut in a handicap race at Hexham last time out and open to plenty of improvement.

FIRST CONFESSION was way out of his depth over hurdles in Grade 1 contests at Newbury and Cheltenham last season but now begins his chasing career in much quieter waters today. He has to concede race fitness and 8lb to I Am Max, but the hurdling form of my selection was much stronger than that horse's. Trainer Tizzard sends three horses all the way from Dorset, which could be a tip in itself.

Jupiter Des Mottes is a promising stayer, winning half of his races on similar ground and showing he can handle a longer trip. He tends to travel strongly through the race and will likely be held up towards the rear early before making steady progress in the closing stages. With his experience at 3 miles and a good strike rate over similar conditions, he could be a force late in the race.

Put together a tidy hat-trick over hurdles at Uttoxeter back in December and wasn’t disgraced when finishing fifth of twelve in a competitive Perth handicap over 3m2f on soft ground in April. Has shown a bit of spark between the flags too. So, with that background in points, he could make plenty of appeal now switching to fences for the first time. Trainer and jockey combo in flying form and I'm sure Olly Murphy has kept Killbarry Hill fit for this run tomorrow.

Mr Hope Street has got a good pedigree for chasing and looks well handicapped on his progressive hurdles form from last season. The Skelton horses were needing a run early on but are firing on all cylinders.

Grand Geste is a strong stayer who handles soft and good to soft ground well, like we have today. He was pulled up last time at Wetherby, but he has shown he can perform over this sort of trip before. Stepping back to a sounder surface should help him find his rhythm, and with Danny McMenamin keeping him well-positioned, he could be competitive in the finish. Not a guaranteed winner, but he’s got each-way appeal if he recaptures his best form.

Laganhill is an unexposed, promising horse that won a couple of novice hurdles at Haydock and Bangor. It was back to form last time at Cheltenham in April and is now trying chasing.

Finished 2nd on his only start in a bumper at Southwell before going over hurdles. Was a slow learner over hurdles but finally got his jumping together when winning a small field maiden at Hexham on his final start despite a sloppy jump at the last. It will be interesting to see how he goes over fences, but they could be the making of him and he is too big a price to leave out of calculations.

Small each-way tip for this horse who is having his first run since May of this year but he has run well when fresh previously. This is a better race than what he's used too but that was a promising run in a Class 3 last time out and that did suggest he may do well in time at this particular level.

Bar I Am Max all are making their seasonal reappearance here and despite also making chase debut off a stiffish mark I'm very interested in this one. Won first time up last season at Ayr and though didn't win thereafter operated at a very decent level and has good form in the book. Stays 3m so this trip on this stiff track will suit and if taking to fences is very much respected today. Lightly enough raced as an 8yo and as a 129 rated over smaller obstacles has still got potential and ground won't be a bother for this Irish raider from yard just starting to click.
