Clash Gold may be a ten-race maiden over timber, but she drops markedly in class for this ordinary mares’ maiden hurdle. A recent yard switch to Francis J. Flood has yet to bear fruit, yet the market makes her the clear favourite at 11/8, suggesting she is expected to outrun her exposed profile. Crucially, the conditions restrict the field to runners that have failed to finish fourth or better under NH rules, levelling the playing field significantly. At likely cramped odds, she can finally get off the mark.
