Parkside Lad is a 2-year-old colt trained by William Durkan. He is 5-4-1, getting off the mark in a maiden at Bellewstown on his last start after some promise at the Curragh and Navan, beating Star Of Sapphire by 1/2 length (received 5lbs). Star Of Sapphire has since run and trotted up by 3 lengths, which suggests an opening handicap mark of 87 is fair and reasonable. The yard is seemingly in good form too, landing the odds with another 2-year-old colt, Time Bender, who won on debut at 33-1 just a couple of days at Leopardstown. So, Durkan unusually may have some nice 2-year-olds in his ranks, given he never had a 2-year-old winner since 2017, then suddenly he wins with his last two juvenile runners.

Stop The Nation has been running at a better level than this and might well relish the drop in grade here. The selection has plenty of experience also and should handle this ground and could run a big race.

3rd of 15 at Roscommon in April after being slightly impeded in the final furlong. Reverts back to a 6f from a mile LTO. Any more improvement can see a win.

Gets a nice lowly opening mark of 72 here after running poorly over this trip last time out but showing promise in previous 2 runs. D. O'Brien's string have been in decent form over the last month, and he's also had 4 winners from 18 saddled at the course this season. I think 1 or 2 could be better, but 22/1 is also overpriced and decent place value.

Looked in need of the experience on his debut over 7f at Down Royal. Bearing that in mind, and the troubled passage he endured during the race, he didn’t fare too badly. Has been below that level in two subsequent starts at Tipperary and last time at Fairyhouse, both over shorter trips. Handicap debut here kept to 6f, from a fair-looking mark, so worth a second look.
